Strawberry Orange Banana Smoothie

This is a recipe I developed. I am sure there are several like it out there somewhere. I remember getting some great strawberry smoothies at the frozen yogurt shops and they always put orange juice in it to add flavor. It works! So try this out.

The way I understand it, this looks to be a HEART HEALTHY smoothie when made with low fat or non fat ingredients. They are very tasty and I encourage you to try it. (I am not qualified to make any substanciated claims).

Blend ingredients together. I recommend adding the juice and strawberries first. Pulse until strawberries are mostly chopped up and add bananas. Blend until smooth then add ice cream and vanilla extract. Serve immediately, that's when they're the best! You can also add powdered or liquid vitamins for added nutritional value. Substitute Dole juice blend with orange juice (no pulp)

Use frozen bananas to help add thickness

Fresh strawberries are fine, but you may need to add ice or more ice cream

Use non fat milk and 6-8 ice cubes in replacement of ice cream (may increase vanilla extract amount as well)

Try using strawberry banana yogurt instead of juice and ice cream. It may add just the right flavor, just needs some ice for texture.
