Brundall, River Yare
Brundall is 19 miles from Great Yarmouth and around 8 miles from Norwich. The village became popular because of its good rail link and the 18 acre ' Brundall Gardens ' which were created by Dr Michael Beverly in 1882-87, pleasure-steamers also used to tie up at the landing stage, houses have now been built on the site. It is thought that the Romans had a pottery kiln near the river and traders used to tie up at Brondale ( Browndale ) Hard.

Most of the Brundall boatyards are north of the river at Hobro's Dyke but in recent years many have closed due to the ' south rivers ' being less popular than the north to holidaymakers.
The boatyard centre right is Broom's boatyard well known for the design and building of fine craft, they are credited with the invention of the ' motor cruiser ' when they cut the mast down on a cabin yacht and put an engine in it. We hired a ' Commodore ' cruiser from them in 2004, the last year of them hiring boats, they will now concentrate on the building of private craft.

The Riverside Stores situated adjacent to Brooms Boatyard at Brundall. The store is still trading and has been enlarged, as far as I am aware it is the only store like it on the River Yare.
