Buckenham Ferry, River Yare
Up until World War 2 there was a Ferry here for hundreds of years to cross the Yare between Buckenham and Carleton St Peter on the south side. The village of Buckenham is around three quarters of a mile north of the river and has a disused 13th century church with an unusual octagonal tower. Strumpshaw Steam Museum is not far from the village.

The "Beauchamp Arms Hotel" stands at the site of the now unused ferry on the South side of the river at Carleton St Peter. There are good mooring at the hotel which has now been painted a dubious shade of cream.
