Salhouse Broad, River Bure.

Salhouse Broad is around two and a half miles downriver from Wroxham, it is a popular overnight mooring for craft returning to the Wroxham boatyards the next morning. A mooring charge has been recently re-introduced after it being free for a number of years.

The thatching yard of Farman Brothers used to be situated close to the broad, Norfolk reed (a variety that is not just confined to Norfolk ) is considered to provide the best thatching material in the world, lasting at least 70 years.
