Here at Duo and Hilde, I accept any and all submissions of Duo/Hilde centric fanfiction. However, with your help, I can put the fanfiction on the site and ready to read much quicker and easier. By using the following guidelines, you can considerably increase the speed at which your fic will be posted and read by the GW fan community.
Rule Number One: This is the most important, and simple, rule of them all. In the subject line of the e-mail, please type “FANFICTION SUBMISSION”. This helps me to distinguish submissions from all other e-mails. If you do not do this, chances are that it will be lost.
Rule Number Two: If at all possible, please submit your story as a URL. This makes it lots easier for me. If you can’t, please just copy/paste it into the body of the e-mail. I really don’t like downloading files. If attaching files is the only way you can submit, I’ll still accept it.
Rule Number Three: If you don’t submit it as a URL, but as raw text, PLEASE type Rule Number Four: Please type this information at the very top of the e-mail:
Rule Number Five: This rule applies to the actual content of the story. While I like to be open-minded and dislike the thought of restricting creativity, I must set some standards. Since this is a Duo and Hilde site, I must only accept stories that focus on Duo and Hilde themselves. No fics that talk about Duo, but never mention Hilde, and vice-versa. Shounen/shoujo ai and yaoi/yuri are ok, as long as it’s kept in the background and doesn’t directly involve Duo or Hilde. Also, please include appropriate warnings. Adult stories are fine as well, but please be sure to label them as such.
Rule Number Six: Be Original! Please do not submit work that is not your own. I am very strict about this. I’ve had one of my stories be ripped off twice, so believe me when I say imitation is NOT the best complement, where fanfiction is concerned. I don’t care if you altered the plot a bit from another story. If you didn’t get permission and you don’t even mention where the original ideas came from, I won’t post your submission. If I find out after I’ve posted it, I’ll remove it immediately and post a note for everyone to see.
Rule Number Seven: Be Patient! If I don’t get your submission posted in a day, don’t get mad! Sometimes it could take as long as two weeks to get your submission posted. After two weeks, you can feel free to e-mail me and ask about the status of your submission.
Ok, that wraps up the rules. If there are rules here that you simply cannot abide by, please e-mail me and I’m sure I can help you out. Don’t worry that you’re doing things wrong. I’m not going to be upset or think you’re stupid. ^_^ God knows I’ve made plenty of mistakes myself; we all have. However, if it’s apparent that you didn’t even read this page (like if you submit something with a subject like “Hi!”, as a Works Document attached, no html codes, and no info on the category) I may just toss out your submission. If you’re sure that you broke a rule, it’d be very nice if you mentioned that. ^_^
