Height: 163 cm.
Birthdate: March 3
Weapon: Blaster Edge
Limit: Combine, Angel Wing
Parents: General Caraway (father)
Julia Heartilly (mother)
Rinoa Heartilly
Rinoa's mother, Julia, is the young lady you meet in the bar as Laguna.  Sure it seems that she and Laguna are going to hit it off, but when Laguna doesn't return to her, Julia is heartbroken.  She meets General Caraway, and they have a daughter, Rinoa.  Later on, Rinoa's mother dies, and since Rinoa never really got along with her father, she takes her mother's maiden name and runs off to join the Forest Owls.
Rinoa is first introduced in the game at the Balamb ball, when the new SeeDs have passed their tests.  She is there because of a situation with the Forest Owls.  During this time, she meets up with the game's antosocial (but cute) main character, Squall.  Later on, back at the Forest Owl's base, she meets Squall once again.  She had gone to Balamb garden to try to get some assistance from the SeeDs.  Of course, Squall and the gang were assigned to this mission.
Back
Over time, the battle get more intense, and Rinoa seems to have gotten more than she had bargained for.  But, it's not like she didn't want to join in.  She offered to battle alongside the more experienced SeeDs, even though she wasn't properly trained.  After the group defeated Edea, (after the second battle) Rinoa unknowingly inherited Edea's sorceress powers and became a sorceress herself.  She was left unconcious after this, and remained this way for a while, while Edea joins the other characters in the game.
I'm going to stop the storyline here, so that I can work on my other pages, and so that I have time to put a spoilers warning up before I finish the story.

Rinoa is not a basic main female figure, like in most other storylines.  Some people think she is weak and is useless through the game.  Sure, it
is possible to get through the game without her, but, you could go through the game without any one of the other characters, except of course, Squall, who you have to use whether you want to or not.  She's willing to fight, and doesn't have to be protected by any male figures.  Another thing that sets her apart from most female game characters (even Quistis and Selphie) is that her attack power doesn't stay low as long as most others do. (Heh.. that means better than Yuna's too! Yuna's attack power sucks until you get her legendary weapon!  --> to Echo)  Her attack gains power very quickly, definetly unlike 99% of the female characters in RPGs.
She's no weakling, and she knows how to do things for herself.  I really liked her for this reason.  (I mean, besides the fact that she's just damn cool, really pretty, has a cool outfit, and gets that cool guy in the end...)
Sure Tidus and Yuna make a good couple, but how would anything work out between a crazy guy from the past, who doesn't even really exist in her world, and Yuna, a calm summoner who travels from temple to temple?  Squall and Rinoa make such a great couple, and they can actually exist together!  I'm not bashing Yuna and Tidus or anything, but, it's obvious which game I liked better.  The storyline isn't so weird, the characters aren't annoying (well, the only character that really is from 10 is Lulu, but...), and it was set up better.
That's about all I'm going to say for now, because if I go on, Echo'll get SO mad at me for dissing FFX.  So, I'll be back later with the rest of the story!
