Heavyarms' upgrade actually started months ago when I added the blue "v"s to his chest(made from strip styrene), altho I bothered to add it to the page. This time however, it got a much more involved redesign. And again, I wasn't going for an exact TV Heavyarms look, just a close rendition.

The biggest change was to the legs. The TV version of Heavyarms had rounded legs with "cuffs" at the ankles(which I do like better), whereas Katoki's Custom version of the Heavyarms had the squared off, angled legs without the ankle cuffs. After cutting off some small parts of the knees and calves, and sanding some of the edges round, I got my epoxy putty and went to work. I built up the new rounded knee pads, the bigger calves, and the ankle cuffs. I made the vents on the inside of the calves from sheet styrene, and the "knob" on top of the knees was made from a small round Lego part. The small grey vents on the front of the knees were added on with putty. I also rounded off the corners of the ankle guards.

The next addition was Harms Army knife. I already had a holster for it from my first version, but I now wanted an actual blade as opposed to the beam one. I made it from two layers of sheet styrene, and shaped it properly. It actually does have some details on it, but the scanner didnt pick them up. It is also removable, in case I ever want to replace it with the beam blade.

Continuing on the arms, I aslo filled in the upper missle panels(the ones that are on the opening panel). I admittedly did not do a very good job here, the putty is a bit uneven, and the detail lines where simply hand drawn in, and didn't come out the best. It wasn't an area I was too concerned with tho, so it doesn't bother me.

The final small change was to the backpack and Gattling Gun. I removed the two "arms" from the backpack, and opened a small hole on the Gattling Gun so it could connect to one of the small nubs on the backpack. I again left the Gattling Gun as it was, instead of trying to make it into the TV version. I personally don't like the TV version gun as much, The Custom version looks a bit more "realistic", and just more practical.

Just like Sandrock, this is the version I would have made in the first place, had I had the skills needed to do it. Now, however I finally have a 1/100 Heavyarms that really feels like Heavyarms, rather than previous barely-more-than-a-repaint version.
