A Dream Come True
by Wendi tr> 1

*Disclaimer* I do not own any of the GundamW characters(as much as I wish I did) and all the legal stuff belong to um..whoever made them. What I do own, is the plot of this story and my made up characters, Jennifer, Melody, Lisa, etc.. Um, BTW, Jennifer's sorta based on me, except there are a few things I would probably never have the nerve to do. Melody, Lisa, and others are based on my friends(who are complaining about their character's names..hey, this is MY story!) And one more thing, this is sort of like an anime, so the ppl sweat drop, fall, etc..Ok that's all, go read my horrible story now.

The girl lay on her bed, staring at the poster of the Gundam Wing boys on her closet door. She was looking at one, and only one, of the pilots. The others were completely invisible to her.

"Duo..." she whispered. "How I wish you were real." A sigh escaped her lips.

Suddenly, her bedroom door flew open, with her mother standing in the doorway. She fell off the bed in surprise.

"Jennifer, why aren't you asleep?! It's already twelve in the morning!" her mother scolded.

"Mo-om! How many times do I have to ask people to knock before they listen to me?! And besides, it's summer. It's not like I have to get up for school or anything." a peeved Jennifer replied.

"Go to bed!" The door slammed shut.

After grumbling a bit on how parents can be so annoying and she never seemed to have any privacy, Jennifer took off her silver rimmed reading glasses and set them gently on top of her dresser. She turned her stereo on, and selected her '96 best anime songs CD(note: the real title is too long..). Turning the volume down, she skipped to the second song, Just Communication. Jennifer deperately wanted to buy the Gundam Wing's soundtracks and more posters, but being a freshman on a $20 monthly budget stopped her from achieving her goal quickly. She turned off the lights and climbed into her twin-sized bed. Both the AC and fan were on, which made the room quite cold, so she snuggled against the warmth of the covers.

"Man...I want to go online right now, and search for more Duo pictures or work on my 'shrine' for him. This is becoming obsessive, but I can't help it. Oh well, I suppose I can do some web surfing when I wake up. Guess I should get my sleep anyhow." she said outloud.

Sighing, Jennifer rolled over and attempted to go to sleep. She fell into slumber immediately, and had the first great dream in a long time. Every other one tended to have Duo being destroyed by mobile suits. Nightmares, in other words.

She was watching a re-run of Gundam Wing episode number five, when she heard a familiar voice outside her apartment door. Curious, Jennifer peeked throught the mini-blinds of the window next to the door. She gasped and stumbled backwards when she saw who it was.

"Duo?! No way. This is impossible! Duo..." her voice trailed off.

Jennifer went to open the door, but suddenly something started beeping and wouldn't stop. Her eyes fluttered open and she sat up immediately.

"Aw...that sucks! It was only a dream. Who the heck could be calling this early in the morning?" Jennifer reached over to pick up the Corvette-shaped phone on her nightstand. "Hello?"

"Ohayo Jenn! Oops, were you still sleeping? Sorry."

"Hi Melody. Yes, you just woke me up from a wonderful dream. Omae o...um I forgot the rest. Anyway, you are going to pay for this."

"Gomen ne...*laugh* Isn't that Heero's line? I'd think that if you were going to quote someone, you'd quote Duo. But hey, are you going to tell me about this awesome dream of yours? Who's in it?"

"Who else? Duo, of course. He moved into the apartment next door. Speaking of next door neighbors, I'm so glad my old ones moved out. I hope the new people include a super nice guy our age."

"You wish! Like Lisa says, the boy-next-door situation never happens in real life."

"Hey well, I can fantasize, can't I? Oh, Mel, I'll be right back. Someone's at the door."

Jennifer hurridly changed into an oversized shirt and a pair of shorts. While brushing her hair and hoping she didn't look too horrible, she went to see who the unexpected visitor was. Jennifer yelped after looking out the peephole. Standing outside was a boy around fourteen, with brown hair and violet-blue eyes. Looking exactly like Duo Maxwell, just without the waist-long braid and priest outfit.

She opened the door. "Hi.. Can I help you?"

"Hi, I'm really sorry about bothering you, but could I use your phone please? We just moved in, and my grandpa hasn't installed the phones yet."

"Oh, yeah, sure. The telephone's right here. Um hold up a sec. I'll have to hang up the phone in my room first." Jennifer rushed into her bedroom and picked up the phone. Melody would not believe this. "Mel! Ohmigosh, guess what!? My fantasy came true. Not only do I have a cute and nice boy our age for a neighbor, but he's an almost exact replica of Duo! Hey, listen, I'll call you back later, 'kay? He needs to use the phone."

"Oh, wow! Really? You've got to remember to tell me about it later. Ja mata!"

"Sure, bye!"

She walked back to the living room, in a daze. This was just too good to be true. Seeing a Duo look-alike sitting on her couch..Oh how Jennifer wished she could wake up to that pleasant site every morning.

"You can use the phone now. By the way, I'm Jennifer."

"Thanks. And I'm sorry, I come knocking on your door in the morning asking to use the phone and I don't even introduce myself. My name's Drew, Drew Maxwell."

As he went to make his phone call, Jennifer sat down and observed him. 'Heh.. I can't believe that for a moment there I thought he was going to say his name is Duo. Oh, what is wrong with me?! Just last year I was like any normal girl, staring at, um, guys in my class(AN: NO, I do not do that. not really, anyway =p). But now, I find myself falling for an anime guy? Oh wow...jeez. Hehe, but then again, most real guys are jerks. With a few exceptions here and there.'

A gentle brush across the girl's face brought her back to reality. Jennifer found herself looking down at Drew's hand, which was still on her now flushed cheek. She raised her gaze, only to find herself drowning in a pool of violet-blue.

"A strand of hair fell across your face.."

"Oh..um thanks, I guess.."

"Aaaanyway. Thanks again for letting me use your phone. Hey listen are you doing anything today?"

"Well I don't have anything planned. Why?"

"I haven't really been around town yet, and I was hoping someone would take me on a tour."

"I'd take you, but I can't drive."

"Aw don't worry. I've got a black and ice-blue Prelude; named it 'Shinigami'. It's my pride and joy."

"Oh, wow, really? Hmm..Shinigami..from Gundam Wing?"

"Yup. The Deathscythe and D-Hell are my fave Gundams, and Duo is my favorite pilot. Do you watch it?"

"Do I watch it? All the time, every day. I like, cannot miss a single episode. And this is such a coincidence, my faves are the same as yours!"

A sudden knock on the door interrupted their conversation.

"Oh that's probably my grandpa. I'll get it."

"Du--I mean Drew, yes, Drew. Well what took you so long? Why are you still here bothering this young lady? My apologies, miss, my pil--er, grandson, shouldn't have stayed here this long."

Jennifer raised an eyebrow at the old man's mistakes. The words he was going to say sounded an awful lot like "Duo" and "pilot". "It's alright, sir. We were just um, talking. Would you like to come in and have a cup of tea? Oh and my name is Jennifer."

"And you may call me Uncle G. No thank you, Jennifer, I think I shall have to take a rain-check on that tea. I still have some unpacking to do." The old man smiled kindly and left.

***Drew***

Damn, I can't believe Professor G almost blew my cover! If Jennifer found out who I was...well I wonder what would happen. She probably wouldn't believe me. And anyway, I need to find out if she truly likes me for me.

We said goodbye to Professor G and made plans for the day. She agreed to meet me downstairs in forty minutes. We would go to a local Chinese cafe, which Jennifer claimed was really great, to have brunch. I left to get dressed in something better than a shirt and shorts, and to clean up my Shinigami. It really needed a wash.

***Jennifer***

After Drew left, I went to get ready. I wasn't sure what we were going to do today, but I wanted to look nice and be comfortable. Ten minutes later, I was decked out in a black AX tank top and blue bellbottoms. Melody called back, dying to know what happened.

I told her everything in a few minutes. She dropped a few hints on wanting to come with us, and I gladly invited her. Things might get a little awkward, so having someone I knew there would help. Melody would meet us at the cafe in an hour or so.

I grabbed my bag, keys, cell, socks, and sunglasses then ran to get my sneakers. I locked up the place and went downstairs, calling my mom on the way. I assured her I'd be fine, even though I'd be out with a guy I barely know, but Melody would be there too. My mom sort of freaked, but in the end I won, and informed her I might not be back for dinner.

Um ok I changed the first part ending, cuz my friend *cough"Melody"* thought it was stupid. I mean I thought so too but well.. Anyway, this ending isn't much better either. Gomen ne, I really suck when it comes to endings. What's really weird is that I've already come up w/ 2 ideas for the big finale. I came up w/ it at 2 in the morning, trying to fall asleep. All my good ideas come to me either really late at night or really early in the morning. That's when I got my first few paragraphs for this story.
