¤ Stats ¤
¤ Name
Nantkins
¤ Species/nationality
Narnian faun.
¤ Gender
Male.
¤ Age
Young adult.
¤ Duties
Nantkins is a records-keeper of sorts, for the lands around his home. He records events, population statistics, and the like.
¤ Birthplace
Nantkins was born near the Dancing Lawn, in the land of Narnia. Since then, he has lived in a cozy, well-furnished cave by himself.
¤ Home
Displaced by magic to the planet Alskyr, Nantkins' new home is on Serpent's Reach Isle, and more specifically, the Caer with the same name.
¤ Physical Description ¤
¤ Hair/fur
Short and curly, Nantkins' hair and beard are nearly black, with streaks of lighter brown. His fur is glossy black, short and similarly curly.
¤ Eyes
Large and chocolate-brown, framed in a fringe of long, black eyelashes, and overshadowed by black brows, Nantkins' eyes, like those of many fauns, often hold within an expression mixed with happiness and sadness both, and a flicker of his wild spirit.
¤ Appearance
Nantkins is a faun, a creature with the head, shoulders, arms, and torso of a man, but the legs, horns, and hooves of a goat. Those horns are about two-and-a-half inches high, and straight, without prongs. He is about five feet in height, slender but muscular at the same time.
¤ Dress
The only "clothing" he wears regularly is a pair of glasses; he's become a bit nearsighted from all of his studies. He might wear a scarf and mittens when it gets cold, otherwise he has little use for clothing.
¤ Accessories/other
Maybe a satchel containing a few books, writing supplies, and the like, as well as some food and other supplies if he's traveling.
¤ Personality ¤
¤ Attitude
Nantkins is really very private, but has absolutely nothing to hide. If asked about his latest project, he takes quiet pleasure in one's interest, but otherwise appears shy and unsociable in public. He loves to attend the many festivals held in the woods, with their dancing, feasts, and other merriment, though he would not be the person at the center of a conversation.
¤ Hobbies
He loves to read the histories of Narnia and Archenland, and often travels to Cair Paravel to visit the library there. He also enjoys the genealogical aspects of his job the most, where he can trace any Faun, Dryad, Beaver, or Mole's family back through the ages. Then, with his knowledge of history and the books available to him, he can tell someone what their ancestor might have been doing during this battle, or what his harvest might have produced that year.
¤ Likes/dislikes
Nantkins does not particularly enjoy traveling such great distances, and the word "adventure" often sends a shiver down his spine. Unfortunately, that is just another aspect of his chosen lifestyle. Oftentimes, he finds himself in the company of other travelers, for there is greater safety in numbers. He has crossed paths with many in the past, including Hawkfeather and his grouchy companion Muddisye.
¤ Abilities/other
Nantkins has an excellent short-term photographic memory. This applies mostly to the written word (facts, statistics, dates, etc.) but sometimes he has similar luck with maps, faces, tunes, and poems or directions. When at a festival, he shows amazing skill and grace when dancing and playing the pipes, though one would not know it if they saw him in an everyday situation, when he appears timid and bookworm-ish.
¤ Family ¤
¤ Parents
He is the son of a tree maiden, a dryad; and a faun. Their family is loose-knit, in that the fauns tend to live in caves and the dryads in the forest. There is always an interaction between the two groups, and therefore room for much love in his family, but no one lives together, under the same "roof," be it tree canopy or cave.
¤ Siblings
Many, many siblings, both dryads and fauns.
