Dustin Sean Pion was born on October 23, 1985. He was the second joy my husband Larry and I share together along with our first joy Larry III. My husband Larry and I knew we were going to have another son and chose his name early. We use to talk to Dustin while he was “housed” in me. When he was delivered, he screamed when they took him away. I called out to him, “Dustin don’t cry mommy and daddy are over here”. He stopped crying and turned his head towards my voice. I will never forget that.

Dustin loved to play in boxes and he always use to study his hands a lot as a infant and a toddler. He would look at them, turn them around, and move his fingers. We couldn’t understand why he wasn’t playing with his toys very much and seemed to enjoy just crawling in the boxes. We thought it was amusing how he would study his food on his tray. We later found out it was because he couldn’t see that well, and at 17 months of age he got his first pair of eye glasses.

Dustin enjoyed us reading books to him, playing matchbox cars, rolling his trucks in the sandbox, swimming in his turtle pool, and playing and collecting the Ninja Turtles to name a few. He enjoyed playing video games and basketball with his brother as he got older, and could talk to his brother about anything. His dad taught him many things dealing with nature and tools. They use to build things together with wood and catch all kinds of bugs, snakes, and such. Later on it was teaching Dustin how to ride dirt bikes, motorcycles and then cars. His brother Larry and his dad found him the car he really wanted and he got it for Christmas. They had it stored in a work garage and when his dad took him to it he called me on the cell phone to tell me about it. He loved his red Z.

Dustin loved sports. He started out at age 5 playing indoor cricket soccer. He loved to be on the sidelines because he had more fun talking with the kids. He later played t-ball and then little league. Mom helped him there because softball was my sport. He would watch his big brother Larry play football and wrestle in high school, so he tried those too. Larry would twist Dustin up like a pretzel sometimes and use Dustin for wrestling practice at home. Dustin learned a lot of moves that way. Larry use to lift Dustin like he was a barbell and pump him up and down several times. Dustin played pound ball football and then high school football up until his sophomore year. His focus became more on wrestling. His freshman year in high school was his learning year as it was his first time he ever wrestled. In his sophomore year he won every single match and took first place in all of the tournaments. He did very well in his junior year with a regional award, all conference award, and he made it into the state tournament. He was awarded most valuable player on his team for the 2001-2002 season. He was most proud of that along with his medals and trophies and displayed them on “his wall” in his room. He was hungry for more and entered some off- season tournaments in the summer to better himself for his senior year. He also wanted to learn the other types of wrestling like the Greco and freestyle.

Along with school, his job at the hardware store, he still had plenty of time for all of his friends. He made his way into their families and their hearts. Dustin was a people person and funny too. We will all miss the joy and laughter he brought to us everyday. I won’t ever forget his loud singing in his room and in the shower. He loved his music, but couldn’t hit a note. Sometimes I would sing a long with him. Dustin also enjoyed the computer. He mostly liked to download music, chat online with his friends, look up car and motorcycle things, and check out the wrestling website from time to time. We were very proud of Dustin because he worked hard in school. He received an honor roll award this year in his junior year. He knew he had to work hard at his grades or he wouldn’t be able to do his sports otherwise, and he had goals for college.

We love and miss you infinity Dustin. Remember we use to say that all the time? You would come back with “triple infinity!” You will be forever in our hearts.

Love, Mom, Dad, Larry, and Sheba
