January Update Letter

Hey All,

So far it's been a good 2 ½ weeks back here after Christmas, I had a good time on my Christmas break with my family and a few people from school that came down with me. I must say though, it was nice to come back to Kamloops and sit around the dinner table with all those people again. Before we left, it was prophesied over the school that after the Christmas break it would be a lot easier and there’d be more for us, and for sure that's been the case. God has really shown up in our morning worship times and it seems that not everyone had an awesome time on their break, but they all learned a lot. I know for me at least, being at home was some important reflection time for me, it was much needed and God taught me a few things that have really helped me up here. One of those things is that he just revealed that I sometimes have a hard time up here. That may not seem like a big deal or even that that should be expected, but I didn't really think I was having any problems. What I learned though is that some of the things I was struggling with weren't out in the open like some other things people were working through, so it seemed to me that I wasn't having a hard time because it didn't show itself publicly. Identifying those things have been important in helping me grow and removing the things in my life that prevent me from receiving all I know God has for me. I'm still working on it, and I never admit that I've got it all, so you can continue to pray that God would reveal the things in me that block me from receiving what he has for me.

Wow, that was a long intro, but sometimes, it just goes that way...Hmmm... Sometimes it's hard thinking of what God has been doing in your life because there is so much sometimes, I write down what I can, but I don't have that book with me right now, so I'm going to try and give you a few cool revelations that have impacted me.

We had/have a guest speaker, Don Harrison, a local pastor come in and speak, and he talked on a variety of things, but he shared some things that have been some food for thought, "The time between the times." That was one of the things he talked about, the here but not yet. Regarding the kingdom of God, it's here but not yet in it's entirety, he talked on how when we pray, we are praying that the not yet would break forth into now, especially regarding things like healing. In the future kingdom, things like sickness, disease and pain of all kinds won't exist, but when we pray, we are causing those promises to break into now. If every time we prayed for someone, they were healed, we wouldn't be living in this season, but in the future kingdom where there is no pain or suffering. Just a little nugget for you!

I've also been learning how we really need the presence of God. I think for a while I've been turned off to people praying for that because, I've been in situations where it was simply for seeking manifestations, but I've been learning a lot about how when we rest in God's presence, we simply do that. We rest. We let him do the work. The presence of God is powerful. Why did Israel win so many battles to take the promised land? Because the Lord was with them. His presence went ahead of them and prepared the way. Read 2 Chronicles Chapter 20. There is a story about Jehoshaphat being attacked by a mighty army, and he cried out to the Lord, and they worshipped the Lord and they never even had to fight the enemy because the lord went ahead of them and destroyed them. The best way to dispel darkness is to turn the lights on. When you carry his presence, it's not you that's seen, but it's Christ, the one you are reflecting.

I've been learning way to much to put it all into words right now, but things have been awesome up here, the atmosphere has changed a lot, like someone else here said, it's not like you go home with your classmates anymore, you go home now to your friends. There's a lot more unity, we're all enjoying ourselves. Especially now that it's getting a little warmer. We had a cold snap, it was about -27 - -30 so it was pretty chilly, Andrew's truck broke down for a bit so we were out of transportation for a week and a half or so, he just fixed it today.

Some of you may be disappointed that I don't always include much of what I actually do aside from what I've been learning, but that's my huge focus right now, and even though we have a ton of fun as well, what God has been teaching me is my staple right now. It's what I came here for and it's changing my life, my focus is getting all I can while I'm under all these teachers and leaders. This is a time for breakthrough in my life and God has been showing up in great ways. But I know you still want to know, so hopefully I'll get on the ball soon and put up some pictures, last weekend Andrew and I painted our room, from plain white and bare drywall, to red, tan and green with a few artistic touches, so it looks quite different and feels like a real room finally.

Pray for continual healing for my knee, it's slowly getting better from when I hurt it, pray for greater discernment, an essential for all, pray for God's will be done and for me to receive even more, for God to expand me to take in more. Thanks again so much for your prayers, they have been so appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me and ask me questions, I don't always have a lot of time to e-mail, but I'll certainly try my darnedest!

God Bless
