21-28th October On the 21st Rotherham were home to Oxford United. Oxford were and still are bottom of the league the millers put in a solid performance which saw them win 3-1. The Millers opened the scoring halfway through the second half when a Paul Warne header was judged to be over the line. A second Millers goal followed with a superb strike from captain Kevin Watson giving Kelly no chance. Oxford than were let back in the game with a Derek Lilley goal than right at the death of the game Paul Warne finished the game off by lobbing the keeper. On Tuesday Ronnie made a plea to the fans who weren't turning up to the games starting with Tuesday Evenings game at home against Swansea City. A lot of the supporters still didn't turn up for the match but the team certainly did and they played fantasticly to beat the Swans 4-2 goals from Mark Robins, Darren Garner, Kevin Watson and Alan Lee. On Thursday there was an AGM which revealed that two monthsearlier director Freeman had resigned as a director of the club. The reserves also played on Thursday but it was another dissapointment with the Millers lossing 2-1 against Port Vale the Millers opened the scoring with a goal from Andy Monkhouse Cedric Bolima played in the match but he returned to France after the Millers decided not to keep him on. The Millers plan for a new stadium were also revealed at the AGM by Phil Henson however the planning chief and the council leader said they were unaware of any approach from the club. |

13-20th October Last Saturday saw the Millers travel down to Bournemouth. Cedric Bolima was selected on the substitutes bench for this one, the 21 year old French trailist looked quick in the just over five minutes he played and had impressed Moore in training and in the reserves matches. The match was won by a Kevin Watson free kick after just ten minutes. Many of the Millers followers where dissapointed when they saw the linesman flagging but the referee allowed the goal. The reserves earned there third point of the season with a 0-0 draw against Bolton. The reserves still haven't scored this season but they were unlucky with Barraclough, Alabi and Hudson all going close to producing the breakthrough. Moore said he was happy with the performance on Saturday and he thought the Millers looked good for the three points. On Tuesday the Millers went to Bristol to face Rovers. Watson was again opened the scoring when a Stewart Talbot through ball saw Watson break the Rovers offside trap and slotted the ball past ex-Chelsea keeper Nick Colgan. In the second half Micky Evans scrambled the ball in for an equaliser and a Bristol Rovers penalty was brilliantly saved by Ian Gray to earn a impressive draw. Burnley manager Stan Ternant agreed to allow a loan extension to striker Alan Lee at Millmoor Moore saying the ex-Villa striker has impressed at his time at Millmoor and has been unlucky not to score during his loan period. |
