Who is this familiar man? Does the name Steve Zahn ring a bell? AH it should! This 5'8 man from Minesotta began his acting career when he landed the lead roll in a local stage production of "Biloxi Blues". From there he went on to train at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA and then moved to New York. There he landed the part of (I think) Hugo F. Peabody in none other then the Tommy-Tune directed version of "Bye Bye Birdie" which toured for 13 months. It was in this stage production that Steve met his now-wife Robyn Peterman. They now live on a farm in west central New Jersey After Bye Bye Birdie, Steve was cast in a play called "Sophistry" which co-starred Ethan Hawke. In this production he was seen by Derek Zoolander himself Ben Stiller who was about to direct Ethan Hawke in the film "Reality Bites" and he offered Steve Zahn a costarring role as Sammy Gray. After he appeared in the play "Surburbia" and from there landed the role as William Barnes in the movie "Crimson Tide" with Denzel Washington. Next he was seen in the film "Race the Sun" starring Halle Barry in which he played Hans Kooiman. |

Next he was in a screen adaption of "Surburbia" (a play in which he was in earlier) and played the part of "Buff". From then he's made many appearances. From a miniseries about true stories from subway riders to appearances on Seinfield and Friends to hitting the big time movies such as Out of Sight, You've Got Mail (in which he worked with Tom Hanks again), Happy Texas, Forces of Nature, Saving Silverman, and Joy Ride. The new movie "National Security" features Zahn as a hardy boy cop alongside Martin Lawernce. Currently he is in the works of "Daddy Day Care" and "Shattered Glass" both due in theaters some time within the year. He soon found himself playing the role of Lenny Haise; the rambunctious girlcrazy guitarist for the "Wonders" who find themselves making their way to the top of the music charts in "That Thing You Do".
What's not to love about this guy? Look at him. He's so cute. And he prefers not to have the biggest roles in movies, as long as the movie is good, he says. And that's a good thing. Because supporting roles are always the funniest, I find. And in everyone of his movies, he's always the comic relief. That's what's so great about him.
