"Can you help me find the Christmas star?"
The speaker was bent with care,
The night was cold,and her thin frame shook
Against the keen,crisp air.
"I would find the star myself,"I said
"Come let us search together,
But first put on this heavier cloak
I have for stormy weather.
"And these stouter shoes put on your feet,
The streets are choked with snow,
And here take a loaf of my bread too,
You must eat before we go."
"My gold too,I will divide with you,
It hinders when carried so long--"
"Oh listen sharp,"the woman whispered,
"Now I hear the angel song."
She clasped my hand,her eyes grew bright
As joyously she said,
"Your love has pointed out the star,
It is shining overhead."
Then I looked into her beaming eyes,
They had lost thier world of care,
And lo,the light of the Christmas Star,
I saw reflected there.(copyright unknown)
The Legend of the Snow Angel
In a wintry land of the East, a little princess waited for her father to return from a journey.He sought a new Saviour King promised by God.As the girl knelt in the snow and prayed for her father's return, a beautiful angel appeared. " Your father is one of three wisemen who have followed God's star safely to a manger and will return with tidings of great joy."
No one believed the little girl's account of the angel's visit.But months later when her father returned with news of the Baby Jesus,the princess led him to the place where the angel appeared.There, on the ground,while snow fell heavily all around and blanketed the countryside,one bare patch of earth remained untouched by snow.....in the perfect shape of an angel.
Every year thereafter, the children of the village made "snow angels" just as children do today, to commemorate the discovery of the Baby Jesus and the little princess' angelic visitation!
Grace and Peace to you this most holy season.
Last night I had a lovely dream,
But strange as it could be,
For on the hill beside our house
Stood a great Christmas tree.
It glowed with lighted candles,
High at the top a star,
And 'round it,dancing in a ring,
Children from lands afar.
There were polite,little English girls'
Swiss boys with funny skis'
Dutch children in queer wooden shoes,
Joined hands with shy Chinese.
Turkish lads in tasseled fez'
Tots from France and Greece and Poland'
Laughing as children do
In the safety of a free land.
Perhaps my dream's a prophecy
Of Christmases to be'
When little children everywhere
Can sing because they're free.
I surely wish with all my heart,
This day of Jesus' birth,
That peace and love and happiness
Soon cover all the earth.

An Angel In Your Pocket
I am a tiny angel... I'm smaller than your thumb;
I live in people's pockets, That's where I have my fun.
I don't suppose you've seen me, I'm too tiny to detect;
Though I'm with you all the time, I doubt we've ever met.
Before I was an Angel... I was a fairy in a flower;
God, Himself, hand-picked me, And gave me Angel power.
Now God has many Angels That He trains in Angel pools;
We become His eyes, and ears, and hands. We become His special tools.
And because God is so busy, With way too much to do;
He said that my assignment Is to keep close watch on you.
When he tucked me in your pocket, He blessed you with Angel care;
Then told me never to leave you, And I vowed always to be there.
