The Society of the Verdant Blade

Ostensibly a fencing society of commoner and noble changelings alike, the society has deeper purpose than merely providing networking for changelings that like to spar. It is the founders' hope that the violent energy of many a young wilder can be redirected to more useful pursuits than the upcoming hostilities that are sure to wrack Concordia.

The Verdant Blade seeks to sow the seeds of a new Spring. A totally Seelie society (due to it's methods) it does not seek war with the Unseelie, or indeed anyone, save those who purposefully try to damage the seeds to be.

The Goals of the Society are:

1. Sow the seeds of a new Spring. Glamour is precious, and should we die in the bloody snows to come, some part must linger to begin anew. Promote Reverie, Rapture, and if glamour is yours to give to one who needs it more than you, seek to do so, but do not Ravage, and if you find those that strip glamour from others for their own foul cravings, strive to hinder them.

2. Protect Childlings. These are the future of the Dreaming, they are our hope and strength. Teach them what you can, and set an example of not just honor and courage, but gentleness and compassion. Many are the nightmares that plague childlings and child Dreamers alike, listen to the children's tales, heed their warnings, and while you can not fight all the battles for them, at least offer them encouragement in what they may face.

3. Seek to aid in the creation and protection of all Freeholds, glades, and places of glamour. Be it run by Seelie, or Unseelie, noble or commoner, each of these is a sacred place.

4. Strive always to better yourself, not merely in skill at arms, or Arts, but in your artistic endeavors, and becoming a better person.

Oath of the Society:

I (Name) do now swear to the purpose of the Society of the Verdant Blade as my heart and honor lead me, to plant and protect the seeds of a New Spring. Should I willingly crush hope, purposefully serve Winter, or fail to foster the New Spring, may the chill of Winter mark me always, and my hand tremble should I strike against Spring again. By the Oak, the Ash and the Thorn, so mote it be.

Those who follow this Oath, find themselves blessed with an additional point of permanent glamour, and the diff of social rolls with certain 'Spring' like Chimera (Nevers, unicorns, etc) lowered by one. Should the fae break the oath, he loses these, and some part of him is marked chimerically with something akin to frost bite. From then on, if he faces a Seelie in combat, he is plagued with chills, causing a plus one diff to all dex rolls.
