& eagles
There are 59 species of eagles that live around the world on every continent (except Antarctica). They can be placed into four categories: fish eagles, booted eagles, snake eagles and giant forest eagles. Eagles are dangerous predators and talented at hunting, with sharp talons and hooked beaks. They have keen eyesight and are swift in flight. Fish and sea eagles live on the shores of lakes, rivers and oceans. Their diet consists largely of fish. Snake eagles tend to be a little smaller than most eagles and hunt in the savannas and forests of Australia, Europe, Asia and Africa. The booted eagles get their name from the feathers that grow on their legs, all the way down to their ankles. They are some of the most beautiful eagles in the world. These eagles live in the tropical forests of South America, Mexico, New Guinea and the Philippines. Most eagles are considered endangered due to habitat loss, illegal killing and poisoning.
