Principal Earth Journal 4/15/2000 Once again there is a matter that demanded my attention. Three beings from another reality have taken up residence in my home world. These three travelers come from an alternate earth, one that I have nicknamed the World of Darkness. This paticular reality is particularly dismal one. On the surface, it is similar to our own, without the superheroes, but behind the scenes, it is much different. The supernatural has overwhelmed this world, controlling the world thru invisible puppet strings. Hope is a rarity of this world. Three vampires traveled from this world to ours. The first of these three vampires is Durante, a member of the Tremere clan, a group of sorcerer vampires from that world. Of the three, he is the most moral, and the most interested in doing good. He is a natural magician, and now seeks apprenticeship on this world. Of the three, he is the most likely to take on the role of a hero in the years to come. I could also tell from his aura that he is a time traveler, a quality that made him a natural choice to have been sent to this world. He may at one point become like me, a full blown traveler of worlds. Durante has taken residence in Arkham MA, possibly due to it's similarity to his home world. He now teaches at Miskatonic University, a professor of history and the occult. I'm sure that the inheritant magics of the area will keep him quite busy. The second is Flesh. A member of the Nosferatu clan, a clan known for its hideousness, Flesh stands out for his appearance. Flesh's skin is transparent, making his muscles and blood easy for all to see. Fortunately Flesh is capable of hiding himself. He has taken residence up in Los Angeles, apparently working against the drug cartels of the area, and working to make his own life comfortable as well. Flesh seemed bent on being part of the "grey area" when it comes to my world. My analysis of this means is that he wants to believe he is a good guy at heart, so that when he commits his atrocities, he feels that he is justified in his actions, no matter how heinous the crime may actually be. He had a very hard time with the concept that I would not allow him to embrace, and repeatedly tried to find a way around the request. I found his arguments especially odd because he kept talking about finding some sort of true love, one that he would want to embrace and keep with him forever. I find the idea of embracing someone to keep them with you forever when it destroys their immortal soul to be rather a self centered concept. Also of interest is Flesh is mystically linked with Baba Yaga. While his association with her may come from another world, the one of this world must be very similar in nature, for that link still holds. I hope the Star Chamber does not get a hold of him. The third of the trio is Lithium, a member of the insane Malkavian clan. Lithium is a megalomaniac, something we have enough of on this world. He has joined the Asenios, a team of mercenaries down in Mexico. Of the three, he is a villain, there is no question of that. Completely self-centered. My greatest concern of Lithium is his connection to the darkness dimension. Normally there are two players that can manipulate that dimension at a time. Lithium's presence hurts the balance of that game. If he were to choose one side or the other, it could have costly repercussions. I have perhaps made a mistake with these three. I have granted them the right to live upon this world. I am taking a great gamble in this case. All three of them represent potential threats to this world, individually and as a group. The potential chaos they bring could forever destroy my birth world. But I take the risk because these three may be the key to stopping the tide of chaos. Their presence as beings of another reality could make them the key to stopping the rush of chaos to this world. But which path they choose remains to be seen. I just hope that allowing them to stay here hasn't been my greatest folly. -Flux
