Objectives : Students will be able to comprehend the gist of newspaper articles

           Students will be able to build vocabulary concerning politics.

Level : Advanced level of adults

Materials : Newspaper article

Procedure :

Warm-up activity

The teacher begins the lesson by asking:

1) What do you know about the pension system?

2) “What do you think of the recent scandal over the lawmakers failing to pay into the pension system?”

These questions are asked at the end of the previous lesson and students should answer them as homework.

Before reading

The teacher gives a vocabulary building exercise.
