Krystina's room at the mansion
"Kyle!" Krystina was overwhelmed when her partner from the charity ball showed up at her balcony, between the green palms and flowers. "Shhh…" he hushed her, looked around him to make sure they were alone. "Are you alone here?" "Yes, but - " She began, but he cut her off, grabbed her hand and took her into the room. "What are you doing here? And Where were you?" she asked, not sure if to be angry with him for disappearing or be happy that he was safe and sound. "I know I have lots of explanations to do - but you first have to believe me I didn't wanted things to end like that. You are a very special girl, Krystina, and I thank god that you are okay. I was so afraid something terrible would happen to you" he said and asked to kiss her hand, but she rejected him. "So daddy is right. You are one of them. You are working with the consortium!" "Yes, but - " "Get out of here, before I call the police, Kyle. Go!" "Please let me explain first." He paused looking up at her lovely face. "I didn't want you or your family to get hurt. I didn't know what Woo was planning to do. I thought he just wanted to take Denver Carrington from your father, but I never suspected things would come to that. If I knew he was going to use violence I swear to god I would have gone straight to the police, really!" "And I suppose you think I'll buy that, right?" "It's the truth, I swear!" "I should call my father right now and have you arrested, you know that?" "But you won't!"
"Oh really and what make you think I won't, ha?" she asked him, but inside herself she knew she couldn't send him to prison. She felt something for this guy, something that she never felt before, and Kyle knew that. "There is something between us, Krystina. Something I can't explain to you, but it's like a connection. From the first moment I saw you I felt this. And don't tell me you didn't, especially when we danced together at the ball" he said. "That dance was a charade for you, like all the other things you did from the first moment you came into Denver Carrington and into my house. It all was a game, wasn't it?" "No it wasn't. Maybe in the beginning yes, but when I met you I knew I couldn't do anything that would hurt you or your family. I care about you, Krystina. I understand you have a hard time believing in me right now, but I swear to you that I will make it up to you." "Leave me alone, Kyle. Please go" "Krystina - " "Go away, Kyle. Before I call the police"
"All right, I'll go" he said, but instead of leaving he came closer to her and kissed her softly on the lips. "You know where to find me" he said and with that, left the balcony and disappeared, leaving Krystina with a piece of paper he left in her hand, with his phone and address… Chaney Hospital, Alexis's room
Alexis sat up in bed, studying the latest stock prices when the door quickly opened and Steven stormed in. "Steven darling," she said in a greeting tone, sensing immediately that something was wrong with him. He looked unquestionably tense. Steven was still reeling from the news Caress had told him at the office. He knew Alexis wasn't going to like what he was about to tell her. He approached her and sat down on the edge of the bed, returned her greeting with a weak smile. "Mother, I know who's behind the purchase of Colby Co. stock. It's Caress." Alexis signed. "I know ... my darling sister," she said sarcastically. Steven looked at her, the surprise evident in his face. "You knew? ... How long have you known? ... How did you find out?" Alexis looked down. "She told me herself … on the night of the charity ball, when she intruded into my office and showed me the stock transfer certificate." Steven stood up. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, disappointment and a touch of anger in his voice. Alexis tried to think of an excuse. "Steven please, you have to understand … the explosion of the car and the terrible shooting. I was more concerned about the well being of my family than about Caress's attempt to thieve my company." Alexis defended herself. But Steven didn't go for it. "Oh please, don't tell me you just forgot to tell me." He leaned against the white wall of the hospital room, facing his mother. "Since when do we have secrets in front of each other? I'm vice chief executive of your board but obviously you don't trust me entirely." He objected offended. "No darling, you're mistaken. I love you very much and I do trust you." She pleaded, realizing that she had made a mistake by not telling him. But Caress's coming back to Denver had been a shock for Alexis. She was afraid the secret Zach and she were hiding could be revealed eventually, and her children were the last people she wanted to find out about what she had done to her sister. "It's just … it's hard to admit that my own sister hates me so much that she works for these criminals." Alexis said, trying to get her son's understanding. Steven looked at her curiously. "So she is one of them…" "Yes she is." Alexis paused for a moment and then continued. "I can't prove it, but I know in my soul that she belongs to the Consortium." Steven was shocked. "I suspected that too, but I wasn't sure. What makes you believe she is one of them?" "Caress warned me of the bomb in Dex's car and the attack at the ball. There is only one logical explanation how she could know about that before it even happened - she is one of them." Alexis substantiated. "Why is she doing it?" Steven asked. Alexis shrugged her shoulders. "I really have no idea, darling." She lied, hoping he would stop questioning her. Steven mind went back to his talk with Caress at the office. He pulled the copy of the stock transfer certificate Caress had given to him out of his pocket and looked at it. "She owns forty eight percent of Colby Co., that's four percent more than you control. And she seems determined to take Colby Co. over. How do we stop her?" "I'm not going to loose my company to her." Alexis assure Steven, even though she wasn't sure herself. "There is fifty two percent of stock that she doesn't control. We have to make that fifty two percent work to our advantage. I'll be damn if I'll let her taking away Colby Co. form me" she had sharp look in her eyes. "Not only Colby Co." Steven scrub his head. "We have to warn dad, he should now Caress is here". "No, absolutely no!" Alexis jumped. She didn't want Blake to know Caress is back in town. Until now she and Zach were the only people who knew she is back, and now Steven found out too. And though Alexis knew it is a matter of time until everybody will know, she hoped Zach would do something to get rid of her sister, before everybody will know her sister is back. She didn't know her sister is already decorated the business section of "Denver Mirror" that exposed her coming back, earlier this evening. "Mother. If you are right, and Caress is a part of the consortium, dads have to know about that. The police would want to question her. This is very critical!" he almost raised his voice. He knew his mother afraid to loss Colby Co., we he couldn't explain why she don't want Blake to know her sister came back to Denver. "Oh Steven, don't you see what she is trying to do?" "Of course I see! That's why I want to tell the family about that!" "I just think we can take care Caress ourselves" Alexis said and regretted immediately. "What do you mean ourselves? What are you up to, mother? And don't tell me nothing, I know you too well!" "Zach and I are trying to stopped her from taking Colby Co., that's all" "How?"
"I don't know yet, but I won't stand aside and let her steal my company!" "And what about dad? Don't he have the right to know and fight, before Caress would try to take over Denver Carrington as well?" Steven asked her. "Steven, try to understand - " "No mother, I'm going to the tell dad about that. He have the right to know!" he said determined and took his coat. "And be careful with Powers. I don't trust him!" he added and then left the room. "Damn you, Caress! damn you!" Alexis murmured to herself. The Mansion
It was a late night hour when Krystle, Blake, Jeff and Fallon sat together in the study and tried to think what to do next in order to protect their family from the consortium. Woo may be dead now, but his last words made Blake believe there was somebody else that wanted to take Denver Carrington away from him and to ruin his life and family. "There's has to be something else", Blake said while they all sat around the table and tried to think who could be this person that Woo had alluded to. "Blake, you said you never met Woo before, right?" Jeff asked the old man. "That's Right Jeff. All we knew about him was that he bought some well known oil companies around the world, and for some reason he decided to try and take Denver Carrington as well" the old man answered. "But it's not only the company in this case" Fallon said, "This case is different from the other, daddy. The man wanted to hurt you, to make you sorry for something" "Something that happened years ago, because the Consortium was after us for over ten years" Krystle completed. "The more I think about this, I keep coming up with the same conclusion. That some one form my past, I mean our past, is responsible for this. Somebody from the past that thinks I did something to him" "Well I would think it has to be something very serious if he wants to kill you for that, daddy" Fallon said when Cathy suddenly showed up running to Fallon, crying. "Fallon… Fallon" "What's the matter, sweetheart?" "I want my mommy. Mommy…" "Your mommy is in the hospital, sweetie, but she is all right" "Maybe you want some hot chocolate, honey?" Blake asked the little girl. She looked at him and nodded with her head saying yes. She was still shy and didn't talk much with her grandpa. Though Fallon introduced them after she came back from the hospital, the little girl had still hard time to get over the trauma she had from the last few days. Her father was dead, her mother was lying in hospital and she was living now with people that were still strangers to her. "Okay, let's go then to the kitchen" Fallon said and took her by the hand. Blake looked at them and smiled. "She is so beautiful… just like her mother" he said. "Yes… Its just too bad Amanda never brought her to Denver before. She feels so alone here, I can tell" Krystle said. "I'm sure she'll be fine. She just need some time to adjust" Jeff said when he stood up and pour him self a glass of wine. "Want some?" he asked Krystle and Blake. "No, thank you, Jeff" Krystle turned down. "Who is this person, Blake? Who can it be?" she asked her husband but before Blake could answer, Jourad showed up in the door announcing Dex Dexter. "Blake" "Dex!" the old man asked when he saw his old friend. "How are you?" "Could be better" Dex answered. "How is Sable?" Krystle asked. "The same I guess, I didn't see her today. Monica hired a guard that stopping me from visiting her" "What?" Krystle asked surprised. "I don't get that" Jeff was surprise as well. "Did something happen between you two?" "Well you know she's blaming me for the shooting, and somehow she found out about the pictures at the ball. You have to talk with her, Jeff" "Dex… you have to give her some time. She just lost her lover, now her mother is in coma, and Miles is still hospitalized, it's going to be a very hard time for her" Krystle tried to encourage Dex. "I know, believe me I know, and I understand what she is going through. But she kicked me out of La Mirage. She won't let me see Cameron; somebody has to talk with her" "The Carlton I guess" "No way" Blake protested. "You are going to stay here, with us" "I'll tell Janette to prepare a room for you" Krystle said. "No, Krystle. I appreciate it, but I'll stay at the Carlton for now" "Dex… you will be safe here, those people could still be after you" Blake said. "Woo is dead. And even if there is still somebody there… it's about time I'll find a place of my own. I won't let the consortium or anybody else ruin my life. Not anymore" "Are you sure?" Krystle asked. "Positive. I'll be fine", Dex answered. "Blake, did you find out who put those pictures in the album?" he asked the old man. Ever since he visits Alexis, he felt guilty for blaming her she was responsible for taking the photos. Now he was almost sure the consortium was behind it. "No, but I have a guess. The young man that I hired Kyle Robbers, I'm almost positive it was he. He had the perfect opportunity. He was here for dinner the other night and could have slipped easily into the library - where Krystle put the album" "So you still think he's one of them?" Dex asked. "I'm afraid so. The police are doing everything to find him. Once they arrest him, he could lead them to all the others" "And to Woo's partner" Jeff completed. "Woo's partner? What makes you think he has a partner?" Dex asked. "I spoke with the bastard before he died. He wouldn't tell me who this partner is, but I'm sure there is somebody else behind this organization. Somebody that want to see me dead" "But who can it be?" Dex asked when Steven showed up and joined them. "Good, you are all here!" he said, upset. "Steven! What's the matter?" Krystle notes his upset. "I think I know who Woo's partner was." he said and all the presents looked at him, wondered. "Who is it Steven?" Blake asked. Steven stubble a newspaper from his coat and showed them an article with Caress's picture. "Caress Morel" He said and they all looked at him, shocked. A Motel in downtown Denver Caress sat on the couch in her small motel room, reading the business section of the Denver Mirror, announcing her purchase of Colby Co stock. She smiled at her picture next to the article. Everything seemed to work out just wonderfully. But she couldn't help but worry that something was going to go wrong at the last minute. The motel room was beginning to bring her down. She needed to get out of there. After all, the meeting with Woo's wife had assured Caress that she didn't need to hide in this hole anymore. She went over to the desk and looked at the unsigned contract in front of her. She opened her briefcase, put the document inside, picked up the phone and started dialling a number, but then put the receiver back down. After a few minutes of consideration, she dialled again, calling a taxi. A man in a black car watched Caress walking out to the street and getting into the taxi. The taxi pulled away from the curb and the car followed. The private detective had followed the taxi for a while when a call on his cell phone came through. He pulled it out of his pocket and pressed it to his ear. "Jackson here." "This is Zach Powers. I've been waiting all evening for your call." Zach was determined to find out what Caress was up to. "She just left her motel. I'm following her now." Jackson answered with a touch of annoyance in his tone. "Good, call me when she gets to her destination." Zach demanded. "Sure, Mr. Powers I promise." Jackson flipped the phone shut. "Maybe I'm just paranoid, but somebody is following us." The taxi driver informed Caress, watching the black car in the rear-view mirror. "Are you're sure?" Caress asked, looking behind. "Can you shake him off?" "Alright lady, buckle up!" He replied, speeding off. "Can you see if there is a man or a woman in the car?" Caress asked the driver. "Yes it's a man. Defiantly a man" the driver said amused. "I'm on the road for over ten years, and I never saw a woman driving like that" he said, still trying to confuse the man who drove in the black car that was after him. "Well, we have to confuse him" "Okay, hold on, it's coming!" he said and the car entered the junction exactly when a big truck came from the right side. "Oh my god!" Caress yelled when the truck beeped and almost hit them. But the taxi driver was skilled. He crossed the junction, causing the truck driver to lost control and turned around, blocking the whole junction and stopping the black car. "Damn it, Damn!" the private detective got angry. He knew Zach Powers would be furious at him for losing Caress. Delta Rho - The Next Morning
Danny walked into the den. His parents were deep in conversation sitting slowly eating their breakfast. The round table was full of his favorites: pancakes, waffles bagels and spreads. He approached. Danny walked into the den. His parents were deep in conversation sitting slowly eating their breakfast. The round table was full of his favorites: pancakes, waffles bagels and spreads. He approached. "Good morning!" Danny said getting his parents attention. "Good morning champ!" Steven got up to help Danny sit. He looked exhausted. "Good morning sweetheart. Feeling better? Slept well? Hungry?" Sammy Jo asked forcing a smile. She was worried; Steven had just updated her on the situation that the story with the consortium was far from over. "Yes I'm starving!" He said loading his plate with pancakes and pouring on maple syrup. "Is Ashley up yet?" Danny asked. He couldn't wait to see her. Sammy Jo and Steven made it very clear to both of them that if Ashley stays for the night, she'll be sleeping in a separate room. Danny didn't liked the idea at first, but Ashley convinced him they have to respect his mom's wish and besides, she didn't felt comfortable to share a bed with him while his mother was so close to them. Steven and Sammy Jo exchanged a smile. "Yes, she'll be joining us soon." Sammy Jo had seen her entering the shower when she came to check on her. She began to like the girl; especially after she found out she is Jim's ex-step daughter. She was curious about his past with Ashley's mother, but decided not to ask him anything yet, mostly because she partly was still angry with him. "Well it's nice to see you acting like your old self." Steven laughed as he watched Danny stuff himself. Sammy Jo smiled. "Danny, slow down." "But I'm hungry." Danny said as Sammy Jo rolled her eyes at Steven. "What are your plans for today? I was hoping you'd help Roy unload the new horses today. I talked to your doctor, as long as you're careful, it shouldn't be a problem." Sammy asked. "Okay, can Ashley help?" He asked before grabbing a waffle. "Of course." Sammy Jo answered. Danny looked at his parents watching him. He smiled. "I'm glad you're here, dad." "Me too son, I think I'll stay here for a day or two if your mother allows." Steven smiled. Sammy Jo shot him an angry look. "We'll see!" "Mom, please!" Danny pleaded. Sammy Jo looked at Steven who smiled at her. "Alright, but last night rules apply." "Fair enough," Steven said. Danny sensed there was more there, but didn't push. "So how's everyone else?" Danny asked. Steven spend the next few minutes updating them about everyone, Sammy Jo mentioned her visiting Krystina. "And I met my niece, Cathy, Amanda's daughter, she's adorable." Steven explained. "So I've got a new cousin to get to know, cool!" Danny chuckled. "Not for long you're off to college soon." Sammy Jo said causing Steven to choke. "Mom, I already told you I'm staying in Denver." Danny said avoiding his parents' eyes. "Danny, your father and I both feel you'll benefit more by being away from Denver." Sammy Jo said sipping her coffee. "Not to mention safer," Steven added. "I made up my mind." Danny finally looked up saw the worried looks on their face. He knew what had happen terrified them. "I still think you should rethink it." Sammy Jo pleaded. "Danny, we understand how important Ashley is to you but if it's meant to be then distance wouldn't matter. " Steven explained. "Oh right, like you and Bart, you left from Denver and we know how that ended." Danny said. Sammy Jo glanced at Steven he didn't even blink. "So Bart and I weren't meant to be, at least I found that out." Steven replied. "I'm not going to make the same mistakes as you. I'm not walking away from Ashley." Danny answered. "Danny, forget about our mistakes, we are only thinking of your happiness. Neither one of us want you to wake up years from now with regrets about this. There are a lot of things your father and I regret and like you said you don't want to make the same mistakes we have. Think about it, don't be impulsive." Sammy Jo hoped he would change his mind. Danny knew his parents were right; he hadn't really thought about it but was impulsive. He worked so hard to be accepted and when he was he couldn't wait to leave. "Okay, I'll think about it. I still want to check out college here." "That's all we ask, Danny. We'll honor whatever decisions you make. We love you." Steven said and Sammy Jo nodded when Ashley walked in after spending a few minutes over hearing them. She hoped Danny knew how lucky he was to have such supporting parents. "Me too." Ashley said. "Good morning Ashley." Steven smiled. "Good morning, Mr. Carrington." Ashley replied and sat down. "Good morning beautiful" Danny kissed her. "Danny, I think you should listen to them. I love you and I want you to do the right thing!" "Oh not you too" "We can be still in touch you know" "That's exactly what I just told him" Steven helped her. "What is this? The three of you discussed about that behind my back, or what?" he guessed. Sammy Jo had talked with Ashley last night, when Danny took a shower. Ashley assured her she loves Danny and want him to do the right thing. "It's just that we all love you, and want you to do the right thing" Ashley answered. "He already told us he'll think about that, Ashley. And I think he'll do the right decision" Sammy Jo said. "We'll see about that!" Danny gave his mother sharp look, and she knew it won't be easy to convince him leave Denver. Chaney Hospital; Sable's room
Monica Colby sat quietly reading beside her mother's hospital bed; she had asked Blake Carrington if he would allow her a few days off to be with her mother. Monica smiled as she looked down at her mother lifeless body, Sable had been in a coma for several days now, and there was no way for the doctors to tell how long she would be like this. The Doctors said that she was recovering nicely form her injuries, and that the burns upon her back would require no corrective surgery. But the only explanation for her comatose state was purely psychological, and Monica knew that hre mother was tormented by what happened just prior to the accident, and right now Sable must feel like there was nothing to wake up too. "Damn that Dex Dexter." Monica said as she closed the book she was reading, "How could you do this to her?" As Monica looked down once again at her mother's angelic face, she noticed that her eyes were moving underneath her closed eyelids. "You are probably dreaming of Cameron." Monica bent closer to her mothers ear. "Mother, if you can hear me Cameron is doing just fine, and we all love you, and miss you" she said and her attention was momentarily drawn away form her mother to the apparent commotion coming form outside her mothers door. She quickly rose from her chair, and made her way form the door. Dex Dexter had returned and was arguing with the guard posted outside Sable's door. "Damn him!" She quickly opened the door and stepped out to give Dex a piece of her mind. "I told you already, she is my fiance! You can't stop me from seeing her!" Dex attacked the guard who blocked his way. "Go away, Dex! You are not going to see mother, you hurt her enough!" Monica said when she went out and saw him fighting with the guard. "Monica, I love your mother! I want to be for her there when she'll wake up, we have a son together, for god sake!" "A son that you are not going to see again, Dex. I won't let you hurting my mother again, do you hear me? Never!" she attacked him, when at the meantime, inside, Sable's mind took her back to the past, back to Califronia, back to the life she once knew, back to THE COLBYS…" She watched the Colby mansion form infornt of her. "Oh what a happy place this once was!" She said to herself as she watched a limmo pulling up to the drive, her sister Francessca got out. "That was until she showed up and ruined my life!" As quickly as the scene appeared it faded to the interior of a bedroom. "This was my room I shared with Jason!" She watched as Jason pulled a younger version of herself into the room. "Oh Jason how,. I loved you then, what a life we had… Sable watched as the younger version of herself was crushed and left weeping as Jason left her life, "How could he have done this to me. We loved each other so much, but our love wasn't strong enough to with stand another woman. If I only hadn't got involved with Zach…" she thought to her self and was transported to another bedroom, this time Zach powers's bed room… This scene quickly faded to many scenes coming at her all at once, The night Jason left her for good, the night she chased him and fell down the stairs, the night on Zach's boat where Jason and Zach fought over a gun an Sable ended up shot.
"No stop it stop it. I can't take it anymore. They never loved me, none of them. They all lied, all of them!" "You won't success with this, Monica. Cameron is my son, and he loves me, you can't take him away from me, I am his father!" "Well he was just fine without you for eigth years - and he will just fine without you in the future!" Monica attacked Dex back. "Now go away, Dex. Go away and don't come back!" she demended from him and almost hit him. The sounds of the alarm from Sable's room stopped her in the last minute, when doctors and nurses showed up running suddenly and entred Sable's room. "Mother!, oh my god, mother, my mother!" Monica yelled and tried to entered the room, but the nurse stopped her at the doorway. "She stopped breating, we are lossing her!!!" one of the doctor said and Dex stared at him with Monica, from the outside. "Oh god, Sable. Don't let her die, god… please!" Dex whispered to himself and tears in his eyes.
