From: Secretary, NAS JRB Ft. Worth E-6 Association

Subj: NAS JRB FT. WORTH E-6 ASSOCIATION GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING MINUTES

1. On 9 Aug 2001, the General Assembly of the NAS JRB Ft. Worth E-6 Association met at BLDG 1837 for the regular monthly meeting. A quorum being noted, the meeting was called to order at 1502 by President Charbono

2. Treasurer’s Report: No report, since the Treasurer got selected for Chief. Cindy Norcross will fill in until the next Treasurer is duly elected.

3. Old Business

a) BLDG 1837, formerly known as The House, is no longer ours. The move to BLDG 3346, known as The Lake House, has been completed. (AK1 Charbono)

b) The Tarrant Area Food Bank excursions are now on the 2nd Thursday of each month. (AK1 Charbono)

c) Six Flags Booster Club excursions continue to be a good deal for us. AK1 Charbono will continue to provide availability updates via Groupwise. (AK1 Charbono)

d) We need a new logo for the Association. As a result, we will have a logo design contest. The winner will receive a shirt with the new logo, along with dues paid for a year. (AD1 Fetsko)

e) The softball revenge game vs. the CPOA was scheduled for 15 June. The CPOA found out that we wouldn’t let a chief be the umpire, so they chickened out, again! We win by forfeit. AD1 Fetsko will try to schedule another game in late September. (AD1 Fetsko)

f) We’re still exploring options and dates for a family gathering/campout at an area lake. A free location has been found in Granbury. Date TBA. (AK1 Charbono)

g) We are collecting pull-tabs from soda and beer cans in the plastic bear on the bar. They get turned in for money towards kidney dialysis. (AT1 Clark)

h) Fleet Reserve Association Branch 11 has been activated in Fort Worth. Cindy Norcross is the Vice President. They meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month, 1000, at VFW 8235, 5333 White Settlement Road (just across the river). Maps are posted in The Lake House. (C. Norcross)

i) The car wash coordinator is directed to set up a car wash to raise funds for the Ruckel family. It will happen at the Taco Bell on 183. Date TBA. (AD1 Bouy)

j) The Adopt-A-Highway was postponed until 17 AUG. (AK1 Charbono)

k) Thanks to Petty Officers Caldwell, Wilson, Lopez, and Dockery for helping the food bank out at the food trade show.

l) Anyone interested in participating in the Habitat For Humanity Framing Fest is to attend a safety seminar on 20 AUG. (AD1 Close)

m) Congrats to the new parents: AT1 Wilson, YN1 and ET1 Skym, and YN1 Leindecker-Bennett-Daniels.

4. New Business

a) We will get new T-shirts sometime soon. AD1 Close is checking on prices for embroidered shirts from “Little Stitch For You” in Cedar Hill. (AD1 Close)

b) We will have another haunted house in concert with the MWR Fright Night. We will need to advertise the location. New decorations will be secured by AT1 Austin. Volunteers are definitely needed. (AD1 Fetsko)

c) We will have a different DJ for the Christmas Party (AD1 Fetsko)

d) Here’s the update on the condition of The Lake House. The ice machine needs to be installed. The rain gutters need to be repaired. Floor planking needs to be replaced in the large bathroom. Smoke detectors are needed in some rooms. Some holes in the walls and ceilings need to be repaired. Wires in the circuit breaker box are exposed. Wires on the outside of the building need to be lifted and secured off the ground. The circuit breaker box needs to be relabeled. The reefer works, barely. We will buy a new/used one. There is no cable, so we will get a dish setup. A tiller is needed to refurbish the volleyball court and horseshoe pit. The back steps need to be replaced. We share our back yard with the 301st Flight Services, who will share their grills and other recreational stuff with us. (AK1 Charbono)

e) We would like to change the building designation number. The CPOA changed theirs to 789. BLDG E6 or BLDG 6 would be preferred to BLDG 3346. AK1 Charbono will see what can be done. (AK1 Charbono)

f) Elections are scheduled for the September meeting. Only members in good standing IAW the Association by-laws may vote. Nominations are as follows:

Vice President: AD1 Fetsko, SK1 Dockery

Treasurer: AT1 (Ret) Cindy Norcross

Master-At-Arms: AD1 Close, AT1 Wilson, AM1 Flow

g) Thanks to all who helped with the move.
