MEMORANDUM
From: Secretary, NAS JRB Ft. Worth E-6 Association
Subj: NAS JRB FT. WORTH E-6 ASSOCIATION GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING MINUTES
1. On 13 December 2001, the General Assembly of the NAS JRB Ft. Worth E-6 Association met at BLDG 3346 for the regular monthly meeting. A quorum being noted, the meeting was called to order at 1508 by President Charbono.
2. Treasurer’s Report: $685 (approx) (AT1(Ret) Norcross)
3. Old Business
a) The Lake House repairs are continuing. The ice machine doesn’t stay cold in it’s present location, and will be moved. The back steps and the picnic table will need detailed self-help requests and work requests to be accomplished. AK1 Charbono talked to Scott Cater at P/W, who reports that, after a cost analysis, we will NOT get the A/C replaced. We will get window units. The front deck is scheduled for replacement next year. Smoke alarms have not been installed, so the smoking lamp is OUT. We will get NAVOSH (AM1 Dotson) and Medical (HM1 Rudolph) involved to push through repairs to the toilet and flooring in the main head. We’re still trying to find the roof leak. The ceiling and wall repairs are ongoing. DirecTV has been installed. (AK1 Charbono/AM1 Flow)
b) The Tarrant Area Food Bank excursions are now on the 2nd Thursday of each month. The December event was pre-empted by the anti-terrorism training. (AK1 Charbono)
c) Six Flags Booster Club fundraising jaunts are winding down, with only the Holiday In The Park times remaining. There are 30 slots open each day, Monday to Thursday, next week from 1430 to 2030. AK1 Charbono will continue to provide availability updates via GroupWise. (AK1 Charbono)
d) We made $109.22 profit at the Station Safety Stand Down. (AK1 Charbono)
e) The CPOA has officially chickened out for the 2001 softball challenge. The fields are now being torn up for repairs. The next challenge will probably be darts. (AD1 Fetsko)
f) We are collecting pull-tabs from soda and beer cans in the plastic bear on the kitchen counter. They get turned in for time units of kidney dialysis for the daughter of someone at the law firm of Modero-Keith. Bring remote collection cans in to General Assembly Meetings. (AT1 Clark)
g) Fleet Reserve Association Branch 11 has been activated in Fort Worth. AT1(Ret) Cindy Norcross is the Vice President. They meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month, 1000, at VFW 8235, 5333 White Settlement Road (just across the river). Maps are posted in The Lake House. Association membership is encouraged to join the Branch. They are having a free Mexican meal on 24 DEC from 1300 to 1700. (AT1(Ret) Norcross)
h) The Adopt-A-Highway event for November was rained out. The next event will be on 18 January, just before the MLK Day 3-day weekend. (AK1 Charbono)
i) The Christmas Party has been reduced to a party at Joe’s Crab Shack on Friday, 14 DEC. There will be 6-8 good door prizes, plus plenty of the old version T-shirts. Only those members who are current (within a month) or are new E-6’s, along with significant others, as of 13 DEC will be eligible to win. Winners must be present to collect their prizes. Contact YN1 Daniels or AD1 Fetsko to reserve your seats. (YN1 Daniels and AD1 Fetsko)
j) The logo competition and shirt procurement process continues. (AK1 Charbono, YN1 Daniels, and AD1 Close)
k) Since the base website is still down, and might not be back for a long time, our website has been moved to www.oocities.org/e6_assn/. (AT1(Ret) Norcross)
4. New Business
a) We’ve probably lost the golf course deposit, but will contact the new management when the course reopens. (AD1 Close)
b) Habitat For Humanity will have another event in the late January/early February timeframe. Details when available. (AD1 Close)
c) The Chapel needs $$$ for their food baskets. AD1 Fetsko motioned to donate $100 to match the CPOA. The motion was seconded by AE1 Caldwell and passed unanimously. (AD1 Fetsko)
d) See AM1 Brown for tickets to Billy Bob’s and concert information. (AM1 Brown)
e) Hail to new E-6, AK1 Wagner.
5. SSGT Garcia made a motion to adjourn the meeting. AD1 Close seconded the motion. President Charbono adjourned the meeting at 1543.
