2. Nominations will be held next month in February for President, Secretary and Fire Warden.
3. Everyone is reminded that we need to show usage of “The House” , so they need to sign in every time they come to the house, for whatever reason: regular meetings, executive meetings, meeting to car pool to the Food Bank or Hwy Trash Pickup, get-togethers or even just lunch. The Secretary and Treasurer also use the lists to see who is active and who attends which functions. SIGN THE BOOK!
4. We had a good showing for the Food Bank in January; 12 people showed up including some helpful E-5’s. Remember that anyone over 16 can help out at the Food Bank. Due to some scheduling conflicts, the next visit to the Food Band will be Thursday, 8 Feb at 0730. It’s the same day as our regular meeting, so don’t forget! Meet at “The House” to carpool.
5. Six Flags is due to begin again sometime in March/April. It’s a great way to bring funds into the association, and everyone who works there gets free lunch, free tickets, shirts are provided and the association gets $50.00 a head. Plus, you get your dues paid for a whole year! Bonus!
6. On our Adopt-a-Highway, it was decided to keep our stretch and not share with anybody (i.e. the CPOA). It is time again to make another run, tentatively scheduled for Friday, 23 February at 0730.
7. The Chaplain’s office will announce soon the Christmas in (May-June-July). As soon as they decide, we will pass the word out.
8. Last October’s Haunted House was considered a great success, even though only a few members actually participated. We would like this to become an annual event, and with some lead time and a little preparation, will be even better this year. We plan on putting up more signs, and weather permitting, may even consider the marina.
9. The clean-up of “The House” is coming along; several people have commented favorably on the new arrangements. We need to maintain our building via self-help while we have it, however long that may be. A suggestion box has been installed, the back storage room has been cleaned up and the two front rooms will be reserved for office-holder use (like eval writing, etc.) We plan to have lockers available in the back room soon. Stay tuned to this station for the latest news.
10. One of our own, AT1 Dee Johnson, retires Feb 16th at 1030. See the flyer on the board.
11. And lastly, our Christmas Party went well, with only a few suggested changes. We look forward to another good time next year. Pictures will soon be up on our website, if our webmaster will just get off of her a**.( http://nasftw.cnrf.nola.navy.mil/e6 )
12. Next meeting will be Thursday, February 8th at 1500 at “The House”. Meeting adjourned at 1600.
