MEMORANDUM

Subj: NAS JRB FT. WORTH E-6 ASSOCIATION GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING MINUTES
1. On 18 May 2001, the General Assembly of the NAS JRB Ft. Worth E-6 Association met at BLDG 1837 for the regular monthly meeting. A quorum being noted, the meeting was called to order at 1423 by President Charbono.
2. Treasurer’s Report: The current balance is approximately $900.00. (HM1 Spofford)
3. Old Business
a) Personnel were again reminded to sign the book whenever they use the House for any reason. It helps us justify having the only designated E-6 Association building in the Navy. (AD1 Fetsko)
b) BLDG 1837, currently known as The House, is to be demolished. The date for the demolition has been pushed back, again. We will be taking possession of BLDG 3346, the doublewide trailer by the marina. The date for the move is still uncertain. The Sea Cadets and Young Marines still need to be relocated. We have offered to help them move. When they are out, Public Works will make repairs on the rear entrance stairs, the floor of the head, and the HVAC systems. (AD1 Fetsko)
c) Due to personnel leaving the House in a messy condition and many non-members being noted using the House without members present, the combination to the front door has been changed. The new combination has been made known to paid members. Since that occurred, the House has been much less cluttered. The combination policy will remain in effect when we move into the new House. d) We had a good showing for the May trip to the Tarrant Area Food Bank. (AK1 Charbono)
e) Since there is no airshow this year, we’ll need to find alternative ways to raise funds for the Association. AK1 Charbono is trying to get dates for us to work at Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor. AT1 Austin is our P.O.C. for working the gates at Texas Motor Speedway (very good deal for race fans!). Burger burns/beer brats/other cookout items are a possibility. We will probably do a couple of car washes before slug season, but there is a question of whether or not we can do them on base. AT1 Austin is looking at ways to get us a soda machine for the new House on the cheap. (AK1 Charbono)
f) Last year, a few junior troops helped us out at Six Flags, but did not receive their complimentary tickets. They have now been taken care of. (AD1 Fetsko)
g) We need a new logo for the Association. As a result, we will have a logo design contest. The winner will receive a shirt with the new logo, along with dues paid for a year. (AD1 Fetsko)
h) The softball revenge game vs. the CPOA was tentatively scheduled for 25 MAY. The date has now been changed to 15 JUN. This time, no Chiefs will be allowed to umpire! (AD1 Fetsko)
i) We’re still exploring options and dates for a family gathering/campout at an area lake. (AK1 Charbono)
j) We are collecting pull-tabs from soda and beer cans in the plastic bear on the bar. They get turned in for money towards kidney dialysis. (AT1 Clark)
k) The dues have been changed to $2/month or $20/year.
l) AD1 Mosley will be in charge of the passover party. (AD1 Mosley)
4. New Business
a) SSGT Hidalgo will have a retirement on 21 JUN, and his retirement party will be at Senor Sol’s in Arlington on 22 JUN. It will be an adult only affair. (SSGT Hidalgo)
b) Farewell to AMS1 Mason, AT1 Calkin, and SSGT Hidalgo.
c) The next General Assembly Meeting will be held on 14 JUN, at 1500, in the House.
5. SSGT Garcia made a motion to adjourn the meeting. AD1 Mosley seconded the motion. President Charbono adjourned the meeting at 1453.
