MEMORANDUM
From: Secretary, NAS JRB Ft. Worth E-6 Association
Subj: NAS JRB FT. WORTH E-6 ASSOCIATION GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING MINUTES
1. On 16 November 2001, the General Assembly of the NAS JRB Ft. Worth E-6 Association met at BLDG 1837 for the regular monthly meeting. A quorum being noted, the meeting was called to order at 1314 by President Charbono
2. Treasurer’s Report: $1179.65 (AT1(Ret) Norcross)
3. Old Business
a) The Lake House repairs are continuing. AM1 Flow reports that the ice machine has been installed and works, somewhat. The back steps and the picnic table will need detailed self-help requests and work requests to be accomplished. P/W says that we will not get a fire suppression system, therefore we will not be able to use the stove. AK1 Charbono talked to Scott Cater at P/W, who reports that, after a cost analysis, we will NOT get the A/C replaced. We will get window units. The front deck is scheduled for replacement next year. Smoke alarms have not been installed, so the smoking lamp is OUT. We will get NAVOSH (AM1 Dotson) and Medical (HM1 Rudolph) involved to push through repairs to the toilet and flooring in the main head. We’re still trying to find the roof leak. The ceiling and wall repairs are ongoing. DirecTV has been installed. (AK1 Charbono/AM1 Flow)
b)The Tarrant Area Food Bank excursions are now on the 2nd Thursday of each month. The November event was only attended by 4 members. This is not acceptable. If less than six show up, then we should not go. The December run will need a bunch of people, since the food bank will be gearing up for Christmas. (AK1 Charbono)
c) Six Flags Booster Club fundraising jaunts are winding down, with only the Holiday In The Park times remaining. AK1 Charbono will continue to provide availability updates via GroupWise. (AK1 Charbono)
d) The CPOA has officially chickened out for the 2001 softball challenge. The fields are now being torn up for repairs. The next challenge will probably be darts. (AD1 Fetsko)
e) We are collecting pull-tabs from soda and beer cans in the plastic bear on the kitchen counter. They get turned in for time units of kidney dialysis for the daughter of someone at the law firm of Modero-Keith. Bring remote collection cans in to General Assembly Meetings. (AT1 Clark)
f) Fleet Reserve Association Branch 11 has been activated in Fort Worth. AT1(Ret) Cindy Norcross is the Vice President. They meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month, 1000, at VFW 8235, 5333 White Settlement Road (just across the river). Maps are posted in The Lake House. Association membership is encouraged to join the Branch. (AT1(Ret) Norcross)
g) The Adopt-A-Highway event for November was rained out. The next event will be on 18 January, just before the MLK Day 3-day weekend. (AK1 Charbono)
h) The Christmas Party has been reduced to a party at Joe’s Crab Shack on Friday, 14 DEC. Contact YN1 Daniels or AD1 Fetsko to reserve your seats. (YN1 Daniels and AD1 Fetsko)
i) The procurement of new shirts was discussed at the November Executive Committee Meeting, with 3 companies as possible vendors. AD1 Close has been in contact with Little Stitch For You, in Dallas, AD1 Snyder knows a C-130 loadmaster who has a comparable business on the side, and YN1 Daniels has info from still another company that can do shirts, coffee cups, etc. In the meantime, AT1(Ret) Norcross has the old shirts on clearance sale for $10. (AD1 Close, AD1 Snyder, YN1 Daniels, and AT1(Ret) Norcross)
j) Since the base website is still down, and might not be back for a long time, our website has been moved to www.oocities.org/e6_assn/. (AT1(Ret) Norcross)
4. New Business
a) The Grand Opening/Hail & Farewell was held. The CO and CMC were unable to attend. Hail to HM1 Bill Rudolph from Medical. Farewell to AK1 Tracy Baker. The potluck/cookout fed the lot of us.
b) The Association will handle concessions for the Base Safety Stand Down on 21 Nov. (AK1 Charbono and YN1 Daniels)
5. AS1 Arnold made a motion to adjourn the meeting. AM1 Flow seconded the motion. President Charbono adjourned the meeting at 1343.
