Heaven On Earth

“Oh, look at that one! Isn’t it beautiful.” I said, almost in a whisper to Brian as he lay next to me on the ground, holding my right hand tightly in his left; We looked up at the forming storm. We lay there on a hill, looking up at the clouds and colors of bright oranges, blues, reds, purples, and strawberry pinks. It was the most beautiful sky a person could ever see, more beautiful than the fullest rainbow, or watching the sunset over the ocean. It was magical and I doubt that I will ever see anything like that again.

It was a huge storm rolling in, and the colors of the clouds said to watch for a tornado but we didn’t move, we stayed there on the hill until it got really dark and scary, when the lighting started. But in that time that we were on that hill, it was like heaven on earth. We spotted out different shapes of things in the clouds as we so often did in our precious spare time.

Brian pointed up in the sky to a very beautiful cloud where a dark blue cloud had mixed with a red cloud and was now forming a purple color, it was like mother nature was just playing with paints, mixing them all up, seeing what she could come up with, I thought of what a beautiful painting it would make for the art gallery I previously worked at and sighed loudly at my dreamy thoughts. Brian turned his head to look over at me and I watched him out of the corner of my eye as he smiled softly, his thoughts unknown to me, and he turned back up to the sky and looked for the next color to form.

The lighting got really bad and we decided it was safer to go inside then, it was dark by now anyway, and it looked like it was close to busting out rain, we climbed the hill slowly and went back inside the house where we sat snuggling on the couch in front of the TV, eating popcorn and watching old movies.
