The
Dynamics of Managing Diversity: A Critical Approach Second
Edition, written with Gill Kirton and published in
2005, provides critical analysis of the Managing Diversity
phenomenon. The text discussed diversity as recognition
of the differences and similarities among and between
groups and how resulting policies must reflect these.
Importantly it explores the significance of individualistic
and collectivist approaches to equality management.
Voices
from the Shopfloor: Dramas of the Employment Relationship,
was published in May 2001. This opens the gate to industrial
relations voices from the developing world by establishing
the prestige and current contribution of ethnographic
methods. It presents analysis of an industrial climate
of one manaufacturing firm since the 1980s through the
lens of different expected dramas of the employment relationship.
