Hi, everyone!

My name is Elizabeth, but my nicknames/aliases include E-beth, Chabelita/Chabela, Empress (dubbed my call sign by a Colonel--who am I to argue?!), Queen Elizabeth, Mascara (because of my dark eyes), Jeannie, Isabel(-ina), and a certain faction will always remember me as SBH from freshman year at Tulane University in New Orleans. (Long may Butler stand!! The Penthouse Girls will forever be legendary!)

I'm into a lot of different things, and music has been a major part of my life since I was a toddler. While I was in Pennsylvania over the holidays, I got into the Grillbillies, a network of bluegrass musicians and fans spread throughout several states. Check out the website, and see what the fun is all about!!

I am currently living in Pikeville, KY, where I am working as an athletic trainer for the athletic teams at Pikeville College, a small private school in the mountains of eastern Kentucky. Hopefully, I will head to medical school sometime in the next few years. I'm looking toward becoming an orthopedic surgeon, but my ideal end goal is to one day be a team doc for the NFL.

I completed Air Force Field Training in the summer of 2000 at Tyndall Air Force Base near Panama City, FL, then I went to West Virginia University and studied Exercise Physiology. I have one younger brother who graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and now works for IBM, and I have one younger sister who attends Centre College in Kentucky. We all graduated from Berwick High School.

You can visit my brother's Sound business at CobraSound.com or visit his website at www.cobrasound.com/jrk.

Mottos: 'Tis better to be overdressed than underdressed. A girl who can't drive a stick is absolutely worthless.

I am really big into languages and linguistics. I speak French and Spanish and am dabbling in Italian, German, Russian, and Arabic at the moment. And, Steven Pinker has become one of my new favorite authors.

I've also done some work on cars here and there. I used to drive an '88 Plymouth Sundance that I simply wouldn't get rid of. (I'm currently looking for another one--stick shift, of course.) I just kept pulling the engine apart, fixing her up, and putting her back together. We went through a lot together, but I finally lost her to a set of train tracks. Then there's my truck. With my dad, I've gotten into classic car restoration, and my first project was my '57 Dodge Truck, pictured here.

As for travel, I've been to France, Switzerland, Italy, and Canada, and I can't wait until the next time I can go back to Europe. I'm planning several trips to other corners of the world as well, and I'm considering moving to Europe for some time to teach English and/or French.

For many world facts, click on the map of France below.

One of the best times of my life was the time I spent in Europe, most of which was in France, one of the greatest countries in the world. Click here to see some photos of La Belle France! Soon, I hope to have some of the pictures from my trip here.

Other Special Interests/Hobbies:

  • Automobile Restoration & Repair
  • Writing: fiction (novels, short stories), poetry, essays, feature and news articles

One of my hobbies is writing, and it's something I've been doing for years. I've had some things published in amateur publications, but I hope to soon get some things done by a professional editor. Take a look at some of the things I've written, and tell me what you think. (Be brutal! I appreciate criticism!)

As far as other hobbies, I'll always be a cheerleader; it's just in my blood. I also love horseback riding and will take a date doing that over anything else I could think of--except maybe, a trip to Paris or something similarly outrageous. I've always been into dancing and acting and singing, and I teach swing and latin dancing, though I would LOVE to learn Argentinian Tango. I was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority at Tulane, the fifth chapter of the entire national organization, which was started as a small Jewish sorority at Barnard College in New York. I've also been a in such groups/sports/organizations as the Explorers, Outreach Tulane, Butler Hall Council, Latin and American Student Association, TsUnami (Tulane's spirit organization), Campus Life, Equestrian Club, Tulane's Associated Student Body, Drama Club, French Club, Photo Club, Youth Alive, Keyettes, and S.A.D.D. I've participated in activities like Outreach Tulane, an annual day of volunteer work in the New Orleans community, and I've volunteered at places like the VA Hospital, Children's Hospital of New Orleans, and Christmas in October.

Once a Tulane fan, always a Tulane fan, and having been both a student athletic trainer and a cheerleader for Tulane Athletic teams, I try to stay up to date on our games.
