Committee member only meeting held. This meeting was more or less a committee primer for the forth coming
monthly meeting on the 28th September. Issues raised included:
The groups name is to be changed due to definite legal problems surrounding the use of the word
'Co-Operative'. A few alternate names were brainstormed with the name 'Artworkers Gawler' being the committee's clear favourite. This new name will be put to the meeting
on the 28th and voted on along with others if the committee favourite proves unpopular.
Bunyip reporter Martin Johnson has kindly offered to write another article to raise awareness about the
group. Everyone contributed to the discussion on what information he should try to include.
Further details regarding the up and coming exhibition on December 2 & 3 at the Eagle Foundry were
raised. Things to be created include Promotional Flyers and Exhibiting Artist entry forms. It is intended that artists wishing to exhibit will be charged a hanging fee of
$2 per item and a further 10% commission on any works sold. There will be a limit of 3 items per artist and all work will be accepted subject to available exhibition space.
Public Liability insurance issues in regards to the December exhibition and the groups own need for
insurance when holding events.
Treasurer's role and initial responsibilities were clarified including the need to be able to accept
membership fee's at the September 28th meeting. It was also decided that the Group/Association Membership fees would be dropped due to complications in processing and
conflicts with individual memberships.
The Committee proposed a Christmas get together for after the exhibition on Dec 2 & 3 at the Eagle
Foundry. The party would be for group members - exhibiting members would also be able to pick up any unsold work at this time.
The Group will look into the possibility of the 'Clock Tower Cafe' in Gawler as another potential
permenant gallery space.
