[Voice Over]
With time, everything must change...

[cut to a fish swimming onto shore, moprhing into an amphibian, then
another of a gorilla morphing into a cromagnon and then into a human being...]

[VO]
...things get bigger and faster, growing better with each progression...

[huts turn to small buildings and then explode into giant skyscrapers,
horses are joined by chariots and then replaced by race cars, then space
shuttles]

[VO]
...tonight it is our time to evolve...

[we race through a tunnel of light towards a glowing sign floating in the
distance, after a few dips and turns we nearly crash right into it...]

[We cut to the Convention Center in Fresno, California where a sold out
crowd of EWC stalwarts are in full effect. Some fans are dueling with the
new foam Fuego bamboo staffs, others are wearing long hair and banging it
like Ernie Grendel, and then there's that section of the audience barking
like Jay Gillette. The camera pans down to the announce position where
fans of the defunct NEWF find a familiar duo awaiting.]

[AB]
Welcome to sunny California, a fitting place for the hottest new show in
syndication today--the EWC's very first installment of IMPACT!!! I'm Aaron
Bishop and this is my co-

[GZ]
And I am MISTER Gregory Zane, THE man in charge of of this new show, MY
SHOW, and don't you forget it, Bishop.

[AB]
Are we starting this already?

[GZ]
Just remember who got who this job--you certainly weren't entertaining fans
at Hot Summers Night unless we count serving hamburgers to marks in your
living room.

[AB]
*Sigh* Tonight we bring to you an entirely new chapter of EWC action
complete with the requisite excitement, intrigue and mayhem you've come to
know and love. And to show you we mean business we've got a hell of a main
event to cap off our very first night--"Crazy" Jay Gillette's very first
Cut N' Shoot title defense against a very dangerous Ronnie Frown.

[GZ]
Well, Gillette better be fully recovered from his match with Grant Harrison
at Hot Summer Nights or Frown is going to make this one short title reign.

[AB]
Thankfully for Jay he was the one doing the tombstone dropping and not the
other way around. We've also got an appearance from none other than T.R.
Parker!!!

(big pop from the fans)

[GZ]
Oh, the cheat who needed in excess of 12 chair shots to take out Mark
Davidson and Sebastian Sloan...great he's a tremendous role model--I want
MY kids to hit people from behind with weapons.

[AB]
Get real it was a death match Greg, what did you expect? Side head locks
and clean breaks--get real. And in our other big match tonight, one that's
bound to have MAJOR implications for the EWC World Tag Team Title
scene--Weapons of Last Resort finally get their shot at the Children of the
Apocalypse inside the ring.

[GZ]
You've got that backwards. The Rierson's were the ones calling out Kenzake
and Turner for most of the summer. They've been patient and tonight, given
their impeccable sense of teamwork, I sense they will emerge as the new #1
contenders to the tag team titles.

[AB]
They've got to get past the former champs, one of whom is a walking
skyscraper, AND they have to hope that the Waverunners don't put in an
appearance. Anyway, enough talking let's get to the ring for our first
match up.

[GZ]
It's one of my personla favs, the man who is finally, and deservedly,
recognized as the final IeWS World Champion, Dr. Destructo.

=============================|
Dr. Destructo vs. John Sliver|
=============================|

John Sliver was out stretching in the ring when the opening strains of
Chopin's
"Funeral March" echoed throughout the arena. Dr. Destructo stepped through
the curtain and made his way to the ring to a smattering of jeers.

Sliver hit Destructo with an early clothesline to take a quick advantage.
Sliver threw Dr. D. into the ropes, and caught him with a well-executed
powerslam that drew a pop from the fans. Sliver executed a nice vertical
suplex, and picked the Dr. up off of the mat. He whipped Dr. D. into the
corner, and charged in. Dr. D. dodged his onrushing opponent, and caught
Sliver with a flurry of European
uppercuts.

Dr. D. then took control of the match, and started wearing out the knee of
Sliver. A variety of submission holds were applied to Sliver's leg, but
none were able to put him away. Dr. Destructo went to whip Sliver into the
ropes, but Sliver reversed it. Sliver tried for another powerslam, but his
knee gave out, and Dr. D. capitalized on the mistake by applying the Texas
Cloverleaf. Sliver tried to hold on but he couldn't and had no choice but
to tap
out. Dr. D took a few moments to break drawing some decent heat from the
fans.

*********************************
** Winner: Dr. Destructo 4:21 **
*********************************

[AB]
And Dr. Destructo once again showing why he's one of the most dangerous
mat-wrestlers in the game today. He sure knows a lot of ways to twist a body.

[GZ]
That's true, but something else that separates Dr. Destructo from most of
the pack is his silent-killer personna. He doesn't need to come out here
and rant and rave, he isn't concerned about mic time, he comes to wrestle
and he's damn good at it.

[AB]
Still, it wouldn't hurt to know what's going on in his head sometimes.

[GZ]
You're an EWC employee now, go try and interview him, it's not that hard.
Whoever his next target is, I just hope they've got a high tolerance for pain.

[AB]
All four of our next competitors certainly do. When we come back it's the
Children of the Apocalypse facing off against the devastating Weapons of
Last Resort.

Weapons of Last Resort vs. Children of the Apocalypse|
=====================================================|

[AB]
This next match is going to be a wild one as there is definitely bad blood
between these teams.

[GZ]
Dan and Zach felt that when the Weapons were tag champs that they were
ducking them. The Riersons had pinned superstars like TR Parker yet they
are still only beginning to earn respect. If I were them I'd be pissed off
too.

[AB]
Well, Turner and Kenzake are pissed off too. They---

{"Couldn't Stand the Weather" by Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble
plays over the speakers and the fans pop hard)

[AB]
They actually seem to be coming to the ring now--let's see what they have
to say.

(The curtains part and Toshiro Kenzake purposefully stalks to the
ring with a glower on his face ... he looks considerably different
than usual, dressed in a black t-shirt shirt and sweatpants, with his
beard shaved off to leave only a trim mustache, and his hair cut back
to a shaggy but fairly short cut ... he's got a microphone with him
as he reaches the ring, and he speaks in a grim voice, his accent
considerably more controlled.}

[Kenzake]
Week ... to week ... to week ... I have let my friend Glenn do the
talking. But tonight, I want to talk. I want to talk about men who
do foolish things.

On the Lords of the Ring, I let Glenn Turner do a foolish thing --
I let him come out here alone, to talk to you. I was angry, and my
friend did not want me to act in anger, so that night, I stay home
as he asks. But I did not know Glenn was going to come out here. I
did not know he was going to be here alone.

And then Zach Reierson and Dan Reierson ... then YOU do something
foolish. You come to the ring, and you attack MY friend Glenn ...
you come to the ring and AMBUSH my friend ... you come to the ring
and HURT my friend!!!

{Toshiro pauses for a moment, taking several deep breaths with a
grimace as he stares at his hands, continuing again with a forced
calm}

Foolish things have consequences, Children of Apocalypse. My
friend Glenn Turner does a foolish thing, and he gets hurt. He
will not be foolish again. /I/ will not be foolish again ... and
you ... /I/ will hurt YOU, no matter who is with you or who is
with me ... your "father" will not save you ... your gods will not
save you ... NOTHING IN THIS WORLD WILL SAVE YOU! IT IS TOO LATE!!!
THE MONSTER IS ALREADY HERE!!!

{Composure completely gone, Kenzake literally hurls the mic out of
the ring, staring wild-eyed at the aisle as he begins to stalk back
and forth in the ring ...the fans are just eating this up and let Kenzake
know it with a roar of approval}

[AB]
That is one angry giant. If--

[GZ]
Hold on a second. This buffoon may be big but he's stupider than even _I_
imagined if he's going to wrestle the Children of the Apocalypse on his
own. His strength and size won't be able to keep both men at bay forever.

[AB]
This is certainly unexpected Greg. I hadn't been informed of any serious
injuries that would keep Glenn Turner from competing tonight.

[GZ]
Zach and Dan are probably salivating at the very thought of this
opportunity.

("Unforgiven" by Metallica starts to play and the fans are providing some
serious heat as Kenzake growls in the ring)

[GZ]
And here they are now this should be interesting...

[AB]
The Riersons are striding purposefully to the ring as always. Personally,
I'm shocked that they didn't try to jump out of the crowd for the quick
advantage.

[GZ]
That's why they're so great--they always keep you on their toes. Plus,
these two like to take the fight right at you.

(Kenzake suddenly slides out of the ring and charges right down the aisle)

[AB]
That's exactly what Toshiro is doing now taking the fight right to the
Children!!!

[GZ]
Well he's not exactly being subtle about this--he is a rampaging 370 plus
man running right at them. I think they're ready and waiting for this.

[AB]
Zach and Dan run to meet Kenzake with a double boot but the big man stops
short and then wrecks both men with a double clothesline!!! So much for
being prepared, Greg.

(the fans loved that)

DING, DING, DING...

[GZ]
If I were the Riersons I'd have attacked from two sides instead of going
right at him. That was basically suicide.

[AB]
Kenzake grabs both men by the throat and we've got STEREO ONE-HANDED
CHOKESLAMS!!! Look at those bodies almost bounce off of the concrete.
Toshiro is really channeling his rage with stunning effectiveness. Now Dan
is hurled into the steel divider and Zach is picked up and being carried to
the ring. KENZAKE GORILLA PRESSES HIM OVER THE TOP AND INTO THE RING!!!

(that one draws the fans to their feet applauding)

[GZ]
What exactly is Wayne Winans waiting for!?! Why didn't he even try to
count these men out? He has no control here in the early minutes and
that's a bad sign of things to come.

[AB]
Would you want to try and get in Kenzake's face? I wouldn't. Zach whipped
into the corner and his neck just bend backwards courtesy of a huge
clothesline. That's gonna hurt tomorrow.

[GZ]
Dan Rierson has finally gotten his wits together and climbed onto the ring
apron--he does not look amused. That little stunt may have gotten the
giant oaf a quick edge but he's still in trouble for the long haul. See,
Dan just got a boot up as Kenzake was hitting the ropes.

[AB]
Blantantly illegal, mind you.

[GZ]
Effective though since it allowed Zach to follow with a low blow and make a
tag--double drop kick, now another and Kenzake is backed into the corner.
This may get ugly really fast.

(the curtains in the back part and the fans start cheering wildly)

[AB]
Care to rethink that statement, Greg? HERE COMES GLENN TURNER!!!

[GZ]
This was all a scam by Weapons of Last Resort!!! Just like at the
pay-per-view!!! See, I knew they were afraid to face the Children straight
up.

[AB]
I don't think that's the case at all. Inside the ring, the Riersons are
now pounding Kenzake with double axehandles and kicks. Turner charges up
the stairs and doesn't stop he's on the top rope--FLYING BODY PRESS catches
both men!!!

(yeeeeee-haaaaaah!!!)

[GZ]
Again Winans does nothing--if he's so afraid he should get out of the ring,
I'd gladly take his place.

[AB]
A minute ago when Kenzake was being double teamed that didn't--oh, never
mind. Turner grabs Zach and slams him to the mat and then kicks him out of
the ring. Kenzake with a headbutt on Dan.

[GZ]
Turner now stepping onto the apron and he gives Kenzake a big thumbs up.
Oh, how cute, the big brain dead freak gives him one back. I'm gonna be
sick. At least now, we can finally have the 2 on 2 match up we were
expecting.

[AB]
Toshiro lifts up Dan by the hair, shoves him into the neutral corner and
starts unloading with knees to the stomach. Now the giant from Osaka with
some evil sounding chops--those are going to leave marks for days.

[GZ]
This is exactly the kind of match the Children of the Apocalypse must
avoid. It's slow and relying on power and brawling, that's the former
champs' game not theirs. To regain control they need to really quicken the
tempo and double team with a purpose.

[AB]
Weapons of Last Resort don't look to be giving them a chance to do anything
like that. There go a series of size 24's right in the ribs that cause Dan
to slump over. Kenzake grabs him by the waste--gut wrench
backbreaker--nice move!!!

[GZ]
This is a bad move. Instead of making a cover, he's tagging in Turner.
Sloppiness like that may be okay occassionally but if they keep it up
they'll be in big trouble before they know it.

[AB]
However, Zach and Dan are looking somewhat off tonight. One has to wonder
if the absence of Sebastian Sloan might have left them off their gameplan.

[GZ]
Ever since that 3-way match, Sloan hasn't been seen by anyone so for their
sake I hope they can break through to the next level and do things on their
own. I for one don't doubt for one moment that they can.

[AB]
Inverted atomic drop on Dan and now he's flattened with a short-armed
clothesline. The former champs may be sticking to the basics so far but
they certainly look sharp.

[GZ]
I am amazed at how controlling they've been with the tempo--that is really
the difference so far. Well, that and the fact that one of their team
members is over seven feet tall and has a serious attitude problem.

[AB]
Heh. Hard irish whip causes Dan to stagger right back out to center ring
so Turner flings him to the other corner. He charges...leaps...avalanche
misses NOBODY HOME!!!

[GZ]
Dan was able to get out of the way and Turner's head just slammed into the
top turnbuckle. He's lucky that wasn't the steel post. The Rierson
brothers need to turn this around in a hurry.

[AB]
Dan Rierson grabs Turner from behind and plants him with a belly to back
suplex. Dan's still woozy and favoring that right side, so he has to crawl
to his corner to make the tag. Turner is beginning to rise to his feet.

[GZ]
Took to long! Turner up just in time to catch a springboard clothesline
from Zach. That is exactly the type of offense Zach is going to need to
really turn the tide of this match--especially since it's Turner in the
ring and not Kenzake.

[AB]
Zach grabs Turner by the head and just drops him with a snap DDT. He's
wasting no time though, right back to his feet and he grabs Turner
again--this time it's an underhook DDT. Quick cover!

ONE................

TWO.................................this is our first of the
match................

And Turner able to kick out!

(big pop, followed by the start of a TUR-NER chant)

[GZ]
Great strategy by Zach. He knows that Turner nailed his head a minute ago
so he wisely decided to go right at it. If they can cause a concussion
this match will end in a hurry. It's hard to hit someone when you see two
of them.

[AB]
Zach drops a knee on the "Gunslinger's" head and now he's just stomping
await on it--that's awful vicious looking.

(the crowd jeers heavily as Zach stands on Turner's head and jumps)

[GZ]
What do you expect? He's trying to win a match here, not put on a ballet.
Turner's yanked back up and Zach drapes the leg over his head--LEGDRIVER
DDT!!! Man, does everybody do that move now?

[AB]
Fuego's proven time and time again why it's so effective.

[GZ]
Then why isn't he the world champion any more?

[AB]
Ugh. Tag made to Dan, the larger of the Riersons. He hoists Turner onto
his shoulders as Zach heads up top--he leaps...HURRICANRANA OFF DAN'S
SHOULDER'S!!! Turner just dropped a good 8 feet.

[GZ]
This is what I was talking about. Dan covers....

ONE................

TWO....................this is why you _have_ to take this team
seriously...........

And Kenzake breaks up the pin with a big stomp. What a jip.

(yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaah!!!)

[AB]
Winans ushering Kenzake back to the apron--which gives the Riersons a
chance at another double team--DOUBLE BRAINBUSTER!!! I sure hope Turner
has some advil in the back.

[GZ]
Or a good retirement plan. After this beating he just might never see
clear. The Riersons have targeted Turner's head and they're really doing a
number on it. Dan grabs Turner and whips him to the ropes BACK BODY DROP
OVER THE TOP ROPE!!! That's gonna hurt.

[AB]
Tag made back to Zach--he heads to the ropes and he's running them--TRIPLE
JUMP MOONSAULT TO THE FLOOR!!! NOBODY HOME!!! Turner was able to roll
over and Zach sails right into the divider.

(lots of groans for the miss, followed by much louder cheers because of who
did it)

[GZ]
That's the downside to having a high risk offense--when you miss, and it
happens sometimes, it can really kill your momentum. How each team reacts
at this juncture will say a lot about the wills of each team.

[AB]
Turner is pulling himself back onto the apron to re-enter the ring. Dan
doesn't like that idea so he charges and nails a leaping shoulder
tackle--TURNER CRASHES TO THE FLOOR!!!

[GZ]
Nice move there...Dan just bought his brother some more time to recouperate.

[AB]
Sure, but he just bought himself a world of hurt because Kenzake is in the
ring and right behind him. Clubbing forearm from behind. Dan spins around
and he's picked up by the throat and lifted straight into the air!!!
DOUBLE HANDED CHOKESLAM!!!

(pop-fest)

[GZ]
Man, look at the ring bounce from the impact. Kenzake is playing to the
fans now which is a big mistake because Zach is back up and he's perched on
the top rope....flying drop kick to the back of Toshiro's knee and he drops
to one knee in a hurry. What will to win by Zach--he had just missed a big
move--but he knew he needed another to save his brother and he wasn't
afraid to go for it.

[AB]
That's great but he's forgotten about Glenn Turner and he's back on the
apron. Zach turns around and walks right into a slingshot sacrifice
clothesline. There's a cover...

ONE...............

TWO.........................this is falling apart in a hurry..................

Dan able to drop an elbow for the save. All four men are up now!

(WEA-PONS, WEA-PONS!!!)

[GZ]
We both know Winans is going to let this turn into a texas tornado match if
all four men want it.

[AB]
Dan goes for an atomic drop on Turner but Kenzake is in from behind with a
knee to the back of Dan and that allows Turner to hit a bulldog on the way
down--excellent counter. And Kenzake with a kick to Zach's stomach. The
Weapons take a brief moment to confer as both the brothers are down.

[GZ]
If they've got something big planned that's not a bad move, otherwise they
should have stayed right on top of things, this match is still totally up
for grabs at the minute.

[AB]
Kenzake goes behind Dan and hoists him high into the air with a full
nelson. Turner comes off the ropes and leaps into the air--flying forearm
to the face of the trapped Rierson. Now Kenzake just leaps forward and
drives him to the mat. Another cover...

ONE.................

TWO..........either way it goes this may not resolve
much......................

THRE-Zach _just_ able to make the save.

[GZ]
The Children of the Apocalypse need to get themselves together in a hurry
or this one is over. Turner goes over to Zach but he misses a wild
clothesline and Zach--oh man--HEAD AND ARM SUPLEX OVER THE TOP ROPE!!!
There you go--big time, critical, offense from Zach Rierson.

[AB]
Kenzake missed all of that since he was too busy smothering Dan in the
corner. He turns around now just in time to see Zach charge, leap onto the
top rope, and somersaults right onto Glenn Turner!!! WHAT A MOVE!!!

[GZ]
The momentum is completely opposite inside and out of the ring--whichever
partner can help out their counterpart first could decide who wins this
match. Both teams have really turned things up a notch over the last few
minutes.

[AB]
Kenzake sees Glenn in turner so he's going to help--he's stepping over the
top rope--Dan leaps and hits the ropes crotching Kenzake!!!

(ooooooh)

[GZ]
He doesn't seem too big to me any more. That's the quickest way to hurt a
guy--never fails. Dan seems really winded but he's able to hit a
clothesline that drops Kenzake back into the ring. Things not looking good
for the former champs.

[AB]
Dan sees that Zach is going for a chair, he nods in approval and turns back
to Toshiro Kenzake. Running knee lift finds the mark. Kenzake sent to the
ropes and Dan shows incredible strength...POWERSLAM!!!

[GZ]
You can tell they're all getting tired since Dan didn't cover, instead he's
taking a second to catch his breath, that wouldn't have happened earlier in
the match.

[AB]
Out on the floor Zach has been jabbing that chair into Turner's ribs. Now
he reaches back for the big kill. But wait, Glenn with a desperation boot
to the stomach and he grabs the chair and waffles Zach with it--HOME RUN!!!
Now a shot to the throat!

(pop-pop-pop...keeps a poppin')
