Patsy pretends 2 have a fight with Ellie and Alice, where she sticks up 4 the chosen 2 fool them, Zoot be praised! The Guardian and May write up leaflets, 2 fool Bray  and Amber into thinking that May is not helping 'the cause' The guardian's are a bit too fanatic, he lacks...streetwise! May writes: The Chosen are a bunch of 'scuzbags' They should be thrown out with the trash! As for the guardian, the only thing he should guard is his butt, cos we're gonna kick it from here to the ranges! This whole Zoot thing is a lie!! KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE!!! "It's perfect," says The Guardian, "How many copies do you need?!" Lex asks Dal 2 come with him 2 scout around and stiru chosen trouble with the boys. Dal says later, Pride's teaching him how to grow wheat for bread. Lex says they've got an army to run! Dal says, "There's an old saying, Lex: An Army Marches On It's Stomach!" Lex sighs and walks out and see's Ebony "Ebony! You won't let me down!" says Lex triamphantly "Don't count on it, Lex!" Ebony says She's packed and leaving. Bray is standing behind Lex. Ebony says loudly how she left once before, but came back to help a friend, she needent have bothered! "What about finishing off the Guardian?!" Lex asks "I don't care anymore!" Ebony replies, "Let him have the city if he wants it!" she walks off. "Arn't you gonna stop her?!" Lex asks Bray Bray shrugs and walks off. Ryan is surprised Cloe joined the chosen, not knowing that she's only a spy. Salene says Patsy has, and KC will be next. Ryan says, "Still, with Amber alive, I thought she'd be the last!" "What little Cloe?" Salene quiries. "She's not so little, she's quite tough!" Ryan says "Whereas I'm weak, right?!" Salene asks Ryan is silent "We're all gonna join sooner or later!" Salene assures him, "Amber or no Amber!!! Do you wanna be the last Mall Rat?!" Pride is talking about the wheat to Dal and Bray, this gives Amber an idea, they starve the chosen! Bray asks how? Amber says the guardian was a loco, they probably use the same food supply as the loco's did, Ebony was their leader, she'll know where it is! Bray bursts her bubble with the news "She's gone," Bray tells Amber "But she was gonna help us!" Amber states "She had other plans!" Bray explains "You knew about this?!" Amber asks puzzled "Ebony does what Ebony wants to do, Amber!" Bray reminds her. "Which way did she go?!" Amber demands as she walks out. "Amber!!" Bray pleads "Which way?!" Amber demands! "I don't know!!" Bray insists, "Down the stairs I think, AMBER!!" May is handing out the leaflets she and the guardian conjured up. As she hands them to passers by she says, "Keep the dream alive!!" Lex suspiciously watches her. Amber comes down the stairs and see's Ebony. "You didn't say goodbye!" Amber reminds her. "I'm sorry Amber, I hate goodbye's!" Ebony says and attempts to leave, but Amber grabs her bag and swings her around to face her. "Oh no you don't!" Amber says, "You can't walk away from this!" "Oh yeah?" Ebony asks, "Who's gonna stop me huh? You?!" "No, not Amber, she doesn't have the stomach for it. But Eagle does! Wanna see her claws?!" Amber asks. "What do you want?!" Ebony bitterly asks "I want to know why you ruined my life!" Amber says angrily "All's fair in love and war!" Ebony reminds her. "Love?!" Amber asks enraged, "What would you know about love?!" "You had Bray, I wanted him, you won, just like you always do!" Ebony says, "So let it go, Amber! And let me go!" "HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?!" Amber says aggressivly, "Bray and I are total strangers now! He's in love with someone else, and I'm..." "With Pride?" Ebony cuts her off, "You don't fool me for a second, Amber! Your still as much in love with Bray as ever! So now the prince has his princess, and you know what happens next in the fairytale? The wicked witch is banished!" "Cept, it's not a fairytale is it?" Amber says "No, but that's not the trouble!" Ebony says, "It's you that Bray loves! And no one can ever take your place!" Lex comes up to May and says, "Keep The Dream Alive?! What dream would that be May?!" She greets him and asks what he's doing here, innocently. "Ah, you know! Fresh air, seeing the sites, and mainly...taking you prisioner!" Ebony walks back in and past Bray and says, "Get away from me!" Amber tells Bray she's gonna stay, but only if HE agree's to it! Amber convinces Bray to let Ebony stay "Ok, just keep away from her, Amber! She's dangerous!" Bray says worried Amber smiles at Bray's tendancy to overeact when it comes to her and says, "I will!" The Guardian tells Tai-San its a lovely day. She says she wouldn't know, she's a prisioner. The Guardian seems to think prisions can be enlightening. Tai-San comments that he must be upset that Bray and the others got away. The Guardian says, "How do you know they got away?" "Because if they didn't...you'd be parading them to us!" Tai-San says. The Guardian's confidence goes shakey when Tai-San mentions where he was. "By the way," Tai-San says, "What we're you doing outside my room last night? Sleep walking?" Tai-San looks very smug, the guardian is embaressed and leaves. Amber, Bray and the rest of the rebels meet Lex at the river, he said he had something important he couldn't bring to base. He's got a chosen with him...no it's a Mall rat, May! Lex doesn't buy May's claims that she's not with the chosen, Bray is more trusting. Ebony shows up. May shows the leaflets to the rebels, she lies, and says she made them to give the others hope. "Scuzbags?" Pride questions "Umm, I didn't write it ok!" She lies. "Seems genuine," Amber says trustingly as Bray is. "So where you guys held up?" May asks innocently Lex shakes his head at Bray and Amber, he doesn't buy it for a second, neither does Ebony. Bray says the can't say, he appologises and says they can't risk it! Amber asks May what she knows? "It's prayers all day non-stop, If you don't join in...they starve you!" May conplains "How the Mall Rats holding up?" Bray asks "As well as they can under the circumstances!" May says. "And security?" Amber asks May says they can't get into the Mall, it's all sealed. May says they don't need into the mall! "Why not?" Bray asks "Who's the most important member of the chosen?" May hints. "The Guardian?" Pride replies confused "No, Trudy!" May says, "Trudy and the baby! Zoot's flesh and blood!!" May continues, "She takes the baby out in her buggy, every morning to that park in sectar 10." "Without guards?!" Amber questions suspiciously Ebony doesn't believe or trust May for a minute, it has to be a set up! "What's the catch?" Bray asks, "Why would the Guardian allow that?!" Bray asks inquisitively. May says the Guardian's lost it, he believes Zoot's protecting them or something! "The most important member of the chosen," Ebony reminds them, "And they don't guard her!" Amber asks Pride what he thinks? It's worth investigating........................ May reports back to The Guardian. He asks why she didn't join the rebels? Double cross the chosen? "Sounds as if you'd prefer it that way!" May says. "I don't prefer it, just expect it!" says The Guardian. May remains steadfast, she claims she is and will remain loyal to the cause! She asks if he likes the plan? He does, May is very pleased with herself "Zoot Be Praised!!" she chants, and leaves. Amber is impressed with Dal's plants "From little acorns......." She says "To mighty oaks!" Dal says proudly. "Can I talk to you?" Amber asks "You know you can!" Dal says She asks him what he thinks of the plan? Will he come with them? He agrees. Amber says she owes him an appology. "For what?" he asks puzzled. "I was angry at Bray for a long time...and I'm so sorry I didn't try to find you, It wasen't your fault at all! But it was wrong of me to punish you for something I thought Bray had done!" Amber admits. "Are you still angry at him?" Dal asks "No...but alot's happened since Eagle mountain. You can't just pick up where you left off!" Amber explains "Why not?" Dal asks, "You and I did...." Amber is quiet "Goodnight Amber," says Dal "Nite," Amber says back. "Have you lost your mind?!" Trudy yells "It's just a little fresh air," the Guardian insists. "In the park, with NO guards?!" Trudy asks "You'll have a nurse maid," he conpensates. "Oh, well that's alright them!!" Trudy mocks his suggestion. "And It will give you time alone with the princess," he gestures towards Brady, "Isn't that what you want?"  The Guardian coaxes her. "Do I have a choice?!" Trudy says anoyed. Bray, Amber, Ebony and Lex watch the park. Ebony is adamant it's a trap! "Look at it!" She reasons, "It has to be!" Lex asks Ebony what happened to the optimist? Pride comes, he's scouted all the buildings, they're all empty. "How much longer?" Amber asks getting impatient. "They should be here soon," Bray assures her. Dal comes. Lex says, "What are you trying to do Dal? Give me a heartattack? "Hey Guys!" Dal says. "What ya doin' here anyways?" Lex asks, "Arn't you a pasifist these days?" "One last battle!" Dal says, "For old times sake!" "I'll go with you," Pride offers. But Dal thinks he has less chance of being captured if he goes alone, Pride should know that. Amber begs him to be careful! The rebels see Trudy arrive in the park. Bray asks when they make their move "On May's signal," says Amber, "But take it easy, we don't wanna scare the baby!" Amber says concerned. May asks Trudy what the problem is? "Don't you recognise this place?" Trudy asks scared, "This is where the demon dogs hang out!" May assures her that they've all been 'put in the pound' it's safe now! Brady is very happy and enjoying her day out. Dal is chased by chosen guards, alot of them! May streaches. That's the signal! Bray, Amber and the others go for it. Trudy see's them. "Well hello Trudy!" Bray says. Trudy is shocked to see Amber "Hi Trudy," says Amber "Amber...but your dead!!!" Trudy says in shock. "Yeah, it's nice to see you too!" Amber says. Dal is on the balcony and see's Amber and the others and screams, "BRAY, AMBER, RUN!!!!! IT'S AN AMBUSH!!!" Chosen guards emerge and they run. Dal is on the balcony, surrounded by chosen guards. He climbs over the other side of the banister to climb down, but slips and falls to the ground. Amber is running with Bray and Pride behind her. They hide in a backyard. They lose the chosen. "Bray, Dal's back there!" Amber says worried. "He'll have to take his chances!" Bray says. "I can't leave him!" Amber begs "It's ok," says Pride, "Bray and I will decoy them!" "Meet you back at base!" Bray says Amber nods and waits till they've gone, then dodges the chosen and goes to find Dal. Amber hides from the chosen then see's Dal on the floor, she's devestated "Dal!!!!!!!" she shouts weakly and falls to her knee's nursing him. he's alive........barely!! "Amber.........did they get away?" Dal chokes out "Yeah! Sshhhhhh! Don't try to talk, I've gotta get you back to base, we're gonna get you all fixed up!" Amber said shaking. "You Cant" Dal said, knowing Amber already knew. "Look after the little ones for me," Dal coughed out "You can do it yourself!" Amber insists stubornly and cries, she's gone red Dal tells her to remember.......little acorns, and he passes away in her arms. Amber is holding him, hysterically crying as Lex and Ebony come and look at her sympathetically. The song, 'The Dream Must Stay Alive' Plays over the funeral At the funeral, Dal's grave in on a hill, they're all standing mourning, especially Amber, who wont speak. Bray asks her if she wants to say something? Amber shakes her head slowly and weeps. Bray stands up. "We're here today to remember Dal. A person who fought for what he believed in. Dal dreamt of a future, where every person could own a piece of the land, where they could grow fruit and live in harmony with one another. He never saw his dream come true, and maybe neither will we, and for those of us who have pledged to carry on...will do so in his name!Dal you were more than a friend...you were an inspiration!" Bray says Amber can't take anymore and runs off crying, Bray goes after her. Trudy is furious the guardian put her safety at risk, but he insists she was well protected. She accuses May of setting up the supreme mother (OMG! She refers 2 herself as supreme mother OMG!!) May denies all, the Guardian covers for her. Cloe has had enough of pretending to be with the chosen! You have to resite every word of his teachings! By heart! Not to mention the miracles! "From what i've seen of his dress code, it's a miracle he didn't die of shame!" Alice laughs "Don't let them hear you say that!!" Cloe anxiously says, "He's comming back...from the dead...soon!!" KC comes down and condems Cloe for joining the chosen, not knowing she's a spy for Alice and Ellie. He gets frustrated and gets suspicious when Alice and Ellie arn't condeming her too. They consider telling him, or even recrooting him, but decide against it. Amber wont speak, not even to Pride. Bray gets her to talk. Amber blames herself for Dal's death, "I should never have let Dal go off on his own!!" Amber sobs. "Dal knew the risks," Bray says sympathetically, "If anyone's to blame...it's me, Amber!!" "You?" Amber asks mournfully "For getting you involved again...making you care!" Bray says feeling guilty. "I never stopped caring," Amber admits, "I just tried not to think about the past...." "And this has brought it all back!" Amber breaks down. "You knew Dal a long time..." Bray says questioningly "We were neighbours, we went to the same school, he was younger but you wouldn't know it," Amber said fondly. "Dal was always older than his years," says Bray. "He was always telling me about his plans for the future, back then he wanted to be a doctor," Amber says. "Like his parents," says Bray. "The virus cured him of that!" Amber sobbs, "When you've seen so many people die, and there's no medicine to help......" "You know what the worst part is?" Amber continues mournfully, "Now I know how he felt...when he thought I was dead....I could have spared him that pain!!" Amber weeps. "Amber......" Bray says and tries to comfort her, she keeps away and says she needs to be alone, Bray leaves and Amber breaks down. Bray's furious with Lex's lack of sensitivity. "Someone died, It's not the end of the world!" Lex insists Bray is getting crosser. "I liked Dal!" Lex claims, "He was a good kid!" Bray walks off. "Something tells me there wont be a next move," Ebony says to Lex. "Why do you say that?" Lex asks "Put yourself in Amber's shoes," Ebony tells him, "She's lost a good friend, she doesn't wanna lose anymore! She's gonna go back to the woods...and we'll be back to square one!" Ebony walks off and Lex is really anoyed. Pride promises Bray he'll continue to help...If Amber wishes it. Bray asks doesn't the council affect his desision? Pride says one thing he's learnt: The stronger the leader, the stronger the democracy. And Amber's as strong as they come. If Amber set's her mind to it...she WILL win this battle for him.  "You love her, don't you?" Bray asks the obvious. "The day I found her...I was leaving the Gaian's for good! Too many big idea's, too many voices, everyone was arguing, it was falling apart! Amber brought the tribe together. She's much more than just a leader...she's the life and soul of the tribe!" Pride says Bray says he didn't answer his question. "I've loved her from the start," Pride says after a while, "She said she needed time, I didn't ask her what it was she was trying to get over...lately I got to think, maybe...just maybe there was hope, then you showed up...I even helped get you two together...." Pride says. "In someways.....I wish you haden't!" Bray says, "All I've brought her...is pain!" "Are you really that blind?" Pride asks, "The girl's crazy about you!" "Did she say this?" Bray asks doubtfully. "She didn't have to!" says Pride, "Just don't ask me what to do...I'm all out of advise, your on your own!" Luke tells Cloe she's by far the best pupil he's ever taught! A few more lessons, and she'll be ready for inissiation! Cloe is unsure, but happily agrees! Cloe puts on a pretend fight with Alice and Ellie to fool the chosen. Salene's stomach hurts, Alice says it's from all the rich food of the hooded ones! "Leave her alone, she's pregnant!" Ryan stupidly blurts out. They are all pleased, but question why she didn't tell them sooner? Salene says they have enough worries! Tai-San says a baby isn't a worry, new life is always a sign of hope! Lex tries to get Bray to convince Amber to help plan their next move. "Tell her my idea!" Lex urges "An all out attack on the mall?" Bray rolls his eyes "NO!! A sneak attack undercover by night!" Lex says. "Why tonight?!" Bray asks, "Amber's grieving, Lex!" "So am I!" Lex claims, "Inside!" "Doesn't anyone want revenge for Dal?" Lex asks, "He was one of us!" Amber walks in and hears him, she asks to talk to Bray............ She's come to a desision, but wanted to discuss it with him before the others. "Why me?" Bray asks "Because, your my friend and you mean alot to me, in many ways I don't deserve your friendship........." Amber says "Amber......" Bray says "No, please Bray! This is hard!" She continues, "I'm gonna go away for a while!" "Away???" Bray asks. "But I'm comming back!" Amber assures him, "With an army, or whatever I can muster together," Amber says there are tribes like the gaians all over the southern provinces, most have turned their backs on city life, but they don't know the threat, neither did she, thats why she should be the one to rally them to ourside! "Let me come with you!" Bray pleads. "The Mall Rats need you now, I wont be missed....I'm dead, remember?" Amber says. Bray asks what they do in the meantime? "Keep the pressure up, hit and run! Never let the guardian think he's won! And when I come back we'll finish him for good!" Amber assures him "What about us, Amber? Where does this leave us?!" Bray asks. "Your my trusted friend and I love you, but we're different people now! I really think this is the best plan, Bray! For everyone! Please!" Amber beggs "I'll go along with it," Bray agrees, "But I don't think we're different people! Amber didn't die up there, and I don't care what you call yourself, You'll always be Amber to me!" Bray says stubornly, Amber doesn't seem 2 mind though. Salene wonders in she wants out of the chosen? Is Ryan right? He strongly believes Amber & Bray stand a chance, Salene isn't sure though! Is he right or just being biast? Pride tells Amber she's running from her feelings! And even if she can't admit it to herself shes made her choice. She made a promise to him, and is afraid of breaking it, but there's no need...things have moved on! Bray asked for the ring back when he thought she was dead, He told him he could never give it up, but he will to her. The dream must stay alive plays in the background. There is a huge lightning and thumder storm outside, it's the middle of the night, Amber creeps down the stairs and into Bray's room........... She sit's beside him on the bed and watches him sleep, he wakes up and see's her. "What's wrong, Amber?" he asks automatically assuming something's wrong, she's in a night dress and they stare into each others eyes for a while, then he leans over and kisses her. She smiles, then he pulls her into the bed an they kiss again............... It's morning. Bray and Amber are lying together in bed with their arms around each other. "All the night's I've dreamed of lying next to you like this...knowing it can never happen...." says Bray lovingly "Me too," says Amber, "And I think of all the time we've wasted....." "Dont," he laughs. "Bray........What about Danni?" Amber asks "I have to find her somehow, If she's still alive....." Bray says. "And then what?" Amber asks "Then I have to tell her, about you and me, but I think she's always known...how much I love YOU, Amber," he says. Amber smiles lovingly then pulls away "What's the matter?" Bray asks, "It'll be ok, I promise!" he assures her. "It's not that, the thing is......." Amber says, "I think I should still go, it's the best plan we have!" "I been thinking about that too, I'm so scared, I couldn't bare losing you again!" Bray says. "You wont," she says lying in his arms, she takes off her ring and gives it back to him and says, "This time, it's for keeps!" he smiles, and they kiss. It's time 2 go, Amber hugs Pride and thanks him, and says goodbye. Lex smiles and then sarcastically says, "This is a really dumb plan, you know that!" "Thanks Lex!" Amber smiles, "I'll miss you too!" "Where's my hug then?" Lex asks, they hug and say bye. "No need to wish you luck, Amber. You always pull through," Ebony says and they shake hands. Amber and Bray smile at each other and hug, she whispers in his ear, "I'll see you in my dreams........." and leaves, she walks up the hill, Bray watches her lovingly as she leaves, tears form in his eyes
