Projects Undertaken
· Development Of Telescriber Application
This is a part of a transcription software suite. Using this user can use thetelephone or other telecommunication device to dial to our system and dictate. These will be stored as a wave file in our system. There is also facility toreview the dictations through the telephone. This is then sent to the server using Winsock based application, from where it is routed to transcribers . The system is based on Intel s Dialogic Telephonic card and corresponding API. It is completely COM (component based) and makes extensive use of XML .The system is marketed mainly in US by the company s Las Vegas Office and through other dealers. It is used in many large hospitals across US and also in some Insurance companies.
Main Clients- Temple University Hospital ,Progressive Insurance Company, Jeff Fink Hospital ,SMA Inc (all US clients).
· Development of Telephony Application for CPhone Client
This was a very challenging project, because the user interface was a special type of phone which had different buttons like forward ,palyback etc (difft combination of DTMF signnals). Since the requirment was urgent and the device could not be shipped in time, the product was built using a simulated device which was built using TAPI, which generated the correct combination of signals. This product was successfully deployed on time, and implemented successfully.
· Development of Telephony Application
Develpoed a TAPI based telephony application, which could handle multiple
lines. The system had features like operation over a wide platform of communication
devices encompassing modems, telephony cards network card etc.It had both
ordinary phone and internet telephony (through H.323 protocol) dialing/receiving
capabilities. It also used Microsofts Text To Speech engine for voice mail
and messaging purpose .It had complete audio control features like forward,
rewind, append , insert etc, and could support all mono wave formats.
This application could be configured for a wide variety of applications
like Interactive Voice Response System, Voice Mail, Automated dialer,
Answering machine, Medical Transcription Software etc.
· Development of CVS client
The task consisted of developing a GUI based cvs (Concurrent
Version System) client for Icope Technologies Pvt Ltd. This was to be used
in place of Microsoft Visual Source Safe. This involved windows programming,
(MFC, Document View Architecture)for the client ,and linux programming
in C at the server side. The client & server processes communicated
via sockets, while at the client side windows pipes were used to communicate
between processes. Special emphasis was given for the development of the
a very user friendly GUI.
Client – Icope Technologies Pvt Ltd -Bangalore
· Solar System Simulator
Implemented in Java as an Applet
This program simulated the motion of the planets around the sun and also the position of the planets at any given date between 1900 –2100.Alsothe motion of the moon about the earth is shown and also the various phases of the moon. I have put this on my home page at http://www.oocities.org/eagle_speaks/SolarSim/Appframe.html and it is ranked 6th in google search under the category Solar System Simulator. Amidst thousands of similar pages this comes just after NASA’s page.
· Computer Graphics Project - Fighter plane shoot out game
Implemented using MFC (Windows Programming) using VC++ &
Windows API.
A realistic game using live images, scrollable background
and flicker free display using double buffering.
· Courier System MIS
Front End - Visual Basic ,Back End - Oracle 8, SQL
This project took the various data input from the end office
,and using complex SQL query presented reports based on any combination
of parameters like parcel destination, booking date, category etc.
· Remote Program Execution
Implemented using C (Ethernet LAN) Windows NT workstations using
NETBIOS Protocol)
This had client/server architecture. The server should be waiting
listening in the machine where the program has to execute. The client sends
the file name of the executable program to the server. The server
executes it and sends the results to the client machine and it displays
it. The client has a graphical user interface. Data is passed as
variable length packets.
· Parallel processing using distributed processors.
Implemented using C (Ethernet LAN) Windows NT workstations using NETBIOS
Protocol)
This involved four Windows NT workstations on the LAN.
A large program which would take a long time if it were to
execute in a single computer was split so that it could be parallely executed
on three different computers and the result merged into a single text file
in the file server.
