Fixing Homepage Images done with your webtv
The first thing you need is a webtv+ with a video camera. (It plugs into the back with an RCA cord)
Image sizing: if your images come out squashed and stretched when you post them on your webpage, they are like mine. Here is the info I got from VRL Thanks guys! Maybe WBS will delete the Java function of their image machine so Webtv can use it one day!
Subject:pic info from VRL.com
Image: /web/www/imga(#).jpeg class: DirectClass colors: 63198 matte: False runlength packets: 128969 of 141056 geometry: 608x232 (Note: This is the video cam size) resolution: 72x72 pixels/inch (note: WWW standard) depth: 16 filesize: 29kb interlace: None format: JPEG comments:WebTV
1)First post your picture on the net somewhere, (I use the upload button in my Homepage Editor)
2)then go into the picture and click on your go to button and click the "show last" button
3)hold your Cmd button down and first press "A"{to highlight the url} and then letter "C" {to copy it}
4)go to vrl.com {after you copied the url, you can click your "goto" button twice (makes it blank) and type in VRL (or anything else that starts with www and ends with .com) and hit enter (the rest is automatic)
5)click on the image machine and select filters
6)select resize (the shortcut is to touch the letter "R" on your keyboard after you click into the choice box)
7)In the box where it says to put your url, delete the "http://" (or it will double up and not work) and then press your "Cmd" button and the letter "V" once (paste)
{Special Note: If you do this right after you post the pictures, you have to use the WBS url instead of the Infoseek one!}
8)then click the "do it" button and it will ask you how you want them resized and delet the #'s in the boxes and replace them with 464(W) and 304(H) {448(W) and 344(H)}. Then hit the "doit" button again
9)You should see a corrected image when it's done. Click on the picture and do steps 2) and 3) again.
10)Go to your webpage editor and go to the "Move it" button.
11)Rename your jpeg in the Editor and do step 7) again in there
12)Use the cut and copy again to get the url
13)Next, do that html thing for images on your homepage and use the paste, so you don't have to write it all down.
14)Enjoy your propersized homepage pictures
