Hi,
We enjoyed watching the men at work, using lovely big machines to do the heavy bits, and small tools for the finishing touches.
May God smile on you today,
Elizabeth

We filled in the time waiting for the bus, by watching the machines. The second photo shows two shovels (machine and man) and both were putting road surface material in place.
We paid our respects to our Great Grandmothers, and then to Bertil's parents and grand parents. This is the couple who stayed in Sweden, and wrote letters to the brother in Australia.
We enjoyed the Swedish transport system. A Diesel bus took us on the first part of the journey, and now we take an electric tram (has rails and an overhead power wire to fuel it. Later we return to Jonsered by electric train. Passengers have cards, and register on a machine in each vehicle.
The walk began at Bertil's school, then past the house his parents lived in when he was a baby. The walk continued across a stream, to his childhood home.
The front door still looks the same. Bertil's parents lived in the flat on the lower floor, right hand side and in the garden Bertil points out his bedroom.

We hiked past the Swedish scout headquarters, then had lunch at the restraurant called Heaven 23 on the top floor of the Hotel Gothia Towers. Most enjoyable, looking down at the panoramic views of Goteborg, including the fun-fair Liseberg, where we had fun in 1987. |
