| Kid Rock's real name is Robert Richie and he was born on January 17th 1971 in Romeo, Michigan. Born the third of four children he was destined to become an entertainer and soon showed his family what he could do by the age of six. He used to come out with his leather gear on and sing songs infront of a whole load of people at his family's parties. People used to say: "Look at that little white kid rock!" - and i guess thats why he wanted to become known as KID ROCK! He was raised a Catholic by his parents who became accustomed to having their child in trouble. But thats what any parent goes through with their child! He signed his first contract with Jive Records in 1990 and released his first album "Grit Sandwiches For Breakfast". Instead of making videos for some of the songs Kid was the opening act for Ice-Cube and Too Short on their 40 city sell out tour. He then went on to sign for a smaller record label called Continuum Records. They gave him the full go ahead to write what ever he wanted on the album "The Polyfuze Method" (1993). This is when he started to write about true life and things that happened everyday in his own life, which is what most Kid Rock fans have come to expect from him Then as time passed by the Twisted Brown Trucker came into the story. The band which is made up of players that have stood by Kid Rock. But they lost a member last year when Joe.C. died of a disease which affected his life each day. But on a more happy note Kid Rock is becoming more recognized through out the world each day. His success with "Devil Without A Cause" was unbelievable. Aswell his last album "History Of Rock"..a contemplation of his past songs was also a big hit! Soon everyone will know just about that little white kid who can rock! |
