Book of Jude

This short Bible book warns against many things for Christians, including immorality. It summarises the events in Sodom, using it as an example.

“So too Sod´om and Go•mor´rah and the cities about them, after they in the same manner as the foregoing ones had committed fornication excessively and gone out after flesh for unnatural use, are placed before [us] as a [warning] example by undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire.” – Jude 7

Pro Gay Argument #1

This verse is a bigoted homophobic misinterpretation of the events in Sodom.

Response #1

“All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness.” – 2 Timothy 3:16

“And now let the dread of Jehovah come to be upon YOU. Be careful and act, for with Jehovah our God there is no unrighteousness or partiality.” – 2 Chronicles 19:7

Response #2

Remember that some Pro-gay theologists claim that the early Christians didn’t condemn homosexuality, and the “homophobia” arose in later centuries. Yet, the book of Jude was written by a 1st Century Christian! Here we see yet another contradiction in the “gay Christian” beliefs.

Pro Gay Argument #2

When the scripture says “flesh for unnatural use” it is talking of the men of Sodom’s desire for the materialised angels, not for each other.

Response #2

The Sodomites didn’t know Lot’s visitors were angels – they referred to them as “the men” (Genesis 19:5). The Sodomites knew exactly what they were doing – pursuing other men to commit homosexual acts. This perverted activity was the “unnatural use” they had “gone out after.

Viewed in context, Jude also says they “had committed fornication excessively” – this sentence could not have been referring to the one single incident with the angels, with whom they committed no fornication.

Besides, the whole point of the letter of Jude is to warn his contemporaries, saying the men of Sodom “are placed before [us] as a [warning] example.” Is he trying to discourage his brothers from having sexual intercourse with angels? Hardly!

Conclusion

Jude was giving an example of Jehovah’s displeasure with the Sodomites who committed “fornication excessively” in an “unnatural” way.

It’s interesting to note that Jude also writes about the very men who started the so-called “gay Christian” movement.

He says, “Certain men have slipped in who have long ago been appointed by the Scriptures to this judgment, ungodly men, turning the undeserved kindness of our God into an excuse for loose conduct and proving false to our only Owner and Lord, Jesus Christ.” – Jude 4

He continues, “these [men] are speaking abusively of all the things they really do not know; but all the things that they do understand naturally like the unreasoning animals, in these things they go on corrupting themselves … These men are murmurers, complainers about their lot in life, proceeding according to their own desires, and their mouths speak swelling things, while they are admiring personalities for the sake of [their own] benefit. As for YOU, beloved ones, call to mind the sayings that have been previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how they used to say to YOU: “In the last time there will be ridiculers, proceeding according to their own desires for ungodly things.” These are the ones that make separations, animalistic [men], not having spirituality.” – Jude 10, 16 – 19

As we can see, the scriptural arguments of the Pro-Gay Theology are weak, contradictory, and absurd. It has been called "a theology of desperation." However, there are other snappy arguments that they use. Let’s briefly pull-apart these on the next page >
