STAGE 1-the goal at this stage is to fill up the empty acres you have and to build up enough economyto fill those empty acres. you should build 5 enterprise zones and 5 residences with a few farms(takes about 14 farms to feed 100 acres of people). you should keep building construction zones residences and enterprise zones.DO NOT ATTACK AT THIS POINT. once you fill the 100 avcres you are ready for the next stage.
STAGE 2- gaining technology and land
The goal at this point is to gain technology and to build up on land. with a solid technology base your country will thrive. The amount of land you have is a big factor in a countrys success. large amounts of land can produce lots of military. prior to mass exploration you should have about 100 enterprise zones 100 residences 30 farms and 70 construction sites.(you should explore 200 acres for this. you should explore now until you have 2000 acres. now its time to gain technology. at this point you should have lots of reserch labs(you will destroy them later). but before you worry about reserching you should build a fair amount of industrial complexes(produce mostly turrets). these wills teadily pump military to protect your country. you should now gain technology. the max of them are- military-83% medical-67% business-200% warfare-10% residential-200% weapons-150% agriculture-200% industrial-150% SDI-100%. gain technology until you are near the max of them all. when you are yo are ready for the next stage
STAGE 3- LONG TERM STRATEGY
GOAL-become ranked 1
you have probably been playing 1-2 1/2 weeks now and your country is beginning to look strong
you can go 2 ways now
MILITARISTIC-
advantages-you gain land very fast.performing attacks against people with lots of acres will make your networth grow lots l
disadvantages- you could lose networth very quickly. if you tick a country off by attacking to much they will retaliate and hurt you very much.
suggestions-i have always player this way and you ALWAYS attack for land NO other reason other then LAND. It is better to attack a person with 5000 acres and a nw of 1 million then a person with 3000 acres and a nw of 2 million

PEACEFUL-
advantages-
you can steadily grow without having a country getting ticked off at you. you will usualy get in the top 30 percent with this.
disadvantages-alot slower at gaining land.
2 wways to gain nw being peaceful
1-MIlitary bases and democracy
if done right this method will make you #1 however it takes a little efoort to make it work. Build as much military bases as possible and buy military when the prices become low.
2-Enterprise zones and residences and democracy
you build some construction sites and farms and fill the rest with enterprise zones and residences then put your tax rate high so you can buy military
