Forge, Child of Prophecy
played by Bib

Day 28 Sollus ,TH 1490
The story takes place in an ancient Dwarven town called Genosha, a small town with a long tradition of exceptional Weaponsmiths. It is believed that some of the finest weapons in the lands have been crafted here. Many have sort the town for its riches, few have succeeded. Its history has been documented rarely through written words, mostly through lore and legend. Over the years the town has declined with many members leaving it seeking other havens.

Day 21 Riag, TH 1490
"I have news" spoke Martha deGrumbar. "What is it?" replied her elderly husband Ragnor deGrumbar. "It has happened my husband, it has finally happened" she in turn responded "the prophecy is being fulfilled, just as the old sage said it would". Ecstatic, Ragnor shouted a loud "then you are pregnant my dear, thank the mighty dwarven gods after all these years I finally will be granted a child, to pass on generations of Weapon smithing".
Ragnor had come from a long line of Dwarven weaponsmiths; his ancestors had forged some of the mightiest weapons, sought after kings and nobles alike. The mighty "Hammer of Bibrock" was said to have derived from this line of Dwarfs. It is rumored that this hammer could smash through walls as easily as opponent's skulls. Its ability to help in crafting weapons was second to none.
Ragnor had been the only male dwarf left in his line of ancestry, so it was imperative for him to bare a son so that his family line could be continued and the knowledge from his for fathers could be passed on. He had pregnant wives in the past but all pregnancies were inexplicably terminated during the first trimester. Martha waited till after this time to finally announce that she was indeed pregnant. So how did he know that the child was male? Well there lies the prophecy……

Day 28 Mawag, TH 1491
Dark clouds gather……cracks of thunder…..lightning strikes, a hellish night to give birth. Within a small cottage were Ragnor, the town shaman, a midwife, and lying on the bed was Marthar. Under extremely difficult conditions, the frequency of Martha's contractions suggested she was just about to give birth. The old sage walk in wet from the torrential rain and spoke "this is how the prophecy said it would be", he was then struck down by a bolt of lightning.
The shaman performed some mystical enchantments as the midwife prepared for the delivery. "We must hurry or else the we will all succumb to the weather" spoke the midwife as her actions hastened. Feeling light headed about it all Ragnor succumbed to his dizziness and collapsed to the floor, the baby's head appeared and it was slowly pulled out. The winds and rain continued with their fury as lightning stuck again and again. Shout's of "fire!" could be heard within the town despite the rain. "This is no normal fire," thought the shaman as he peered out the window. The midwife felt a snag as she continued to pull the baby out. She increased her efforts and realized that there was a second….
Upon birth of the two males it was realized that they had not been separated, they were in fact Siamese twins, joined along their arms and legs. Ragnor raised from the ground to see this monstrosity. Screaming he pulled out his sword and sliced the two boys apart with surgical like precision, his sword had a blade that could split a hair with its sharpness. The right twin quickly slumped lifeless as the left twin continued to bleed heavily. The shaman fused the wounds shut with elemental flame.
Crash…..lightning struck the cottage, which erupted into flames, the midwife grabbed the screaming baby and placed it in a small wooden cot as she rushed out the door, the remaining dwarfs were knocked unconscious and perished in the cottage. She stumbled towards a river and with a final gesture placed the wooden cot into the water, then she fell dead…

Day 2 Gahmil, TH 1491
100 miles down the river is a small Dwarven village called Deeprock Home. The cot had washed a shore here and was discovered by a Dwarven woman named Bova Rok. She took the baby and presented it to her husband who was known as Fraggle Rok. "It is hideous" spoke Fraggle "get rid of it or else you'll curse us all" he shouted. "How can you say that Fraggle? It is but a baby and we are keeping it" spoke Bova.

Day 17 Charassa, TH 1493
The child known as baby Rok appeared as a normal dwarf of his age, other than the fact he had massive scars running along his right arm and leg. One day he was playing in his foster father workshop when he picked up Fraggle's Hammer. With incredible force and precision he hammered a piece of steel that was lying around into a flat piece. Both Bova and Fraggle had walked in and witnessed this in amazement. "We shall name him Forge" Bova exclaimed excitedly.

Day 11 Veltom, TH 1503
Forge grew up becoming a competent weaponsmith; assisting and performing tasks for Fraggle in his workshop. He also became socially inept, his scars causing other children to ostracize him; this made him very self-conscious and withdrawn in his life style. He became labeled as a weirdo and many of the other parents would not allow their children to play or associate with him. One night he over heard his foster parents speaking, Bova - "They fear him because they do not understand" to with Fraggle replied "No, they do understand…that's why they fear him". That night he left the village, never to return.

Day 23 Riag, TH 1511
Forge was forced to fend for himself from an early age, he entered into various different human and Dwarven establishments in order to find out who he really was, and his real family history. He became an aid to various weaponsmiths until one day his obvious talents were spotted by the Dwarven Weapon Forger by the name of Bruenor Schwarzenbib. Bruenor took Forge under his wing as his apprentice. He also become Forges teacher, teaching him how to read and write and sending him on various knowledge quests. Forge discovered a little about his real parents and learnt about the "Hammer of Bibrock". He discovered that he shared common ancestry with Bruenor.
After years of living with his hideous scarring and being stared upon as a freak, Forge decided he would do something to rectify the situation. He carefully fashioned metallic plates and grafted them onto his right arm and leg using intense heat. The plates act as sort of a shield, but also covered his scarring as it was initially designed to do so. Over recent years forge has noted a slight numbing in his right arm and leg, although not hindering him in any way yet, the area of the numbing has slowly begin to spread…

13 Day Borrum, TH 1520
Recently Forge has been researching on prosthetic limbs, he has discovered an ancient way of building limbs to replace old or amputated ones, and his studies included the identification of the "Arm of Cyterak" after the mighty Dwarven Armourer. The limb replaces the existing limb giving the host great strength in that limb. Forge believes that this could be a solution to solve his numbing problem. He also realises that with the increased strength, he will be able to forge weapons more quickly and effectively.
Forge has the desire to open his own Weaponsmithing business, he desires to become the greatest Weaponsmith in the lands. His desire of greatness in this art seems to be driven by his ancestry even though his knowledge of them is very limited. It seems to be a spiritual guidance that he "feels".

He also seeks the fabled "Hammer of Bibrock" for this simple reason, it would serve to build greater weapons and smite anyone who gets in his way. He seeks adventuring for three reasons. One being to help him acquiring knowledge of his family history and of the items he seeks. He knows that the town he was from was destroyed and most of the records were destroyed. Two he seeks the items himself and three he seeks capita to set up his business……

A Description of Forge

Forge appears as a dwarf (funny that). He is 4 foot 10" tall and weighs 197 pounds. His hair is a rusty brown colour with black eyes and red pupils. He is of average but muscular build. His right leg and arm is covered by massive scarring cause at his birth. He also bears some scarring on his right cheek as a result of being a Siamese twin.

Regardless of what Forge is wearing, he always dons his trendy brown weaponsmith apron and toolbelt.
