HELP FOR WOMEN IN THE WORKPLACE

See page bottom for great links!

How many of you have gone home from your job in tears? Seething with frustration and anger
that makes you want to explode... but you have a family waiting, dinner to cook, errands to run,
sports events to attend, laundry to do... so much, and so little time for yourself...
and the next morning you wake to find yourself in the same harassing, pin-pointing,
confidence hating, revenge seeking, political game playing, gossip
speaking, hot and cold, tension setting place you go to everyday...
before you return to your "real" duties???

You are not alone.
I have searched on the internet for this type of help, and you know what I find?

Help for the corporations. Help for management. Help for how to reduce turnover.

Well, for goodness sake, people, why are good workers changing jobs in the first place?
Are we that stupid that we can't see that power and greed only intensifies the insecurity
of the top dogs, and filters down an attitude from which there is no return?
That the education of management today is in political gameplaying, instead of common sense,
down to Earth hard work, communication and bestowing some authority on your
most intelligent workers as an obvious profit maker? It's called delegating, folks.
Do you expect to foster motivation in a meeting of interrogation, mockery, pin-pointing,
favoritism, exhibiting a demeaning and condescending attitude towards those who serve you best?

Speaking to the brainwashed, corporate hair-do money mongers:
What freaking boat did you fall off, and when?

Did you work fifteen years or more ago, and when did you realize your ways are better?
Have you looked around at how many companies are folding or totally re-structuring
(which only costs tons of dollars and serves to pay more people in numbers of
higher salaries that produce nothing for the company, while the workers producing not
even close to that overhead are unhappy and leaving because decisions are made
by a college graduate that knows nothing of the workplace -- except what he learned
in a book that taught him that the workplace should be run like a military camp?)
Did you miss the fine print? Do you miss what happens in the company
everyday because you are locked in your office playing politic games and
too worried about whether your cell phone bill has exceeded its limit for the month?

This is not for women alone, granted as a woman I have noted the difference in treatment,
but for men too; you are not alone. I believe we need to speak up, work together,
and do what we can because from one who has always tried to see the wide view,
I can't see an end, except a very nasty one, where we as resourceful bright individuals are
living off the Earth and the powerful and greedy have no one else to work for them
because they have ruined their every intention of being successful.
Maybe that's their repayment?
Maybe that's what they get for treating us the way they do?
We know we can survive, but can they?
Should I feel compassion for them?
Have they really allowed greed and power to blind  their better judgment... and will they let
these character flaws drive them into a hole they never thought they could fall into ?
I see miracles everyday and I am just waiting for the miracle of the common worker
to feel content, motivated, happy, and concerned for the place at which they spend most
of their lives.  Granted, this society has changed, family life has changed, workplace has changed,
but as we know - many of these changes have not helped humanity as a whole.
Why and where did it start? At the moment, I don't give a flip, I just want to see what we can.
do about it now, and how we can stand outside our uppity, selfish, money-motivated,
greedy, power-ridden, hair-do ways and let us be the talented individuals we were born to be.

Is that too much to ask?
Was there some rule written as of late that says we must be miserable in our work?
Was there some rule that says stress must be endured?
Was there some rule that we "now" must raise our children saying
"work just sucks kids, get used to it", or "sweetie, if your boss calls you a liar, and says that
you must work overtime no matter how hungry your kids are; if he demeans you in a meeting,
or makes a mockery of you, that it's ok because that's just the way things are now", or
"if your boss tells you that when he is condescending to you and treats you like a prostitute...
that's just the way he is and it will happen again, you just need to take it..."

Well, to all corporate entities that have ever conducted themselves in such a manner,
STUFF IT!!
Come on, you beaten down employees, say it with me, ...STUFF IT!!!

I know, it feels better for a moment, but we need to do more, and trust me, I am.
We still have freedom of speech, right? Well, don't take it for granted. Fight with your every
breath for it, because we are in a change that is rocking the world. We don't need to just say
"Stuff it."  We need to help each other and love each other, and whether the power hungry idiots
get it or not, only time will tell. How many more September 11ths do we need before
people wake up? Life is too short for stupid power games in the workplace.

Bless you sisters and brothers that are fighting what seems to be a terrible battle.
You will conquer, you will feel better soon, and trust me, they will step into a puddle filled
with mud, sooner or later. :)

Women still bring home only $7 for every $10 men earn for comparable work.

Women are still held
to higher standards for "looks" than are men. Few men are considered unpromotable because they are "not attractive" or "youthful looking"  enough, but this is  common treatment for women in such professions as sales, TV and other forms of communications.
