The book contains a detailed account of 10 families, 28 genera and 58 species of common, uncommon and rare trees and shrubs of Ontario. The publication includes leaf structure, flowers, spring, summer, winter and fall growth photos, leaf buds, bark, fruits and seeds, status in the province of Ontario and distribution maps. It also includes habitat requirements and preferences, soil type, cultivation and propagation as well as medicinal and edible properties. Seasonal status charts are presented at the back of each chapter which is presented by family, with all genera within the family presented together in a simple, easy to follow binomial system. This publication is a must for foresters, environmental consultants, propagators, cultivators, gardeners, hebablist, holistic healers, scientists, students, teachers, biologists, government agenices, etc. as a quick and easy reference to confusing plant species which may mistaken or misidentified with common plants.
