Happy Valentine's Day!

How about making this Valentine’s Day special? Include mother earth in your gift giving festivities, by using one or more of the following tips and ideas in your February 14th decorations and valentines.

Collage Hearts
(Try to use recycled ingredients of course!)
  1. Collect magazine clippings, greeting card images, or brightly colored paper. Arrange and glue them into a collage on a regular sized sheet of paper, any color, and let dry.
  2. Trim the collage into a heart shape.
  3. With excess backing paper, cut out a slightly smaller heart to write your message on.

Cranberry Hearts
(for our feathered friends)
  1. Purchase or make your own heart shaped grapevine or straw wreath.
  2. String popcorn and cranberries (one or both) on cotton string.
  3. Wrap the garland around the heart shape.
  4. Hang or stake in your yard for the winter birds.

Hearts A'Growing
  1. Paint a small old flowering pot bright red, or pink, or even white!
  2. Plant seeds in a heart shape and write a clever note to accompany your creation.
  3. Alternatively, you can grow this ahead of time, and present your loved one with a heart shaped starter plant.
Try to incorporate as many resued, recycled or natural ingredients in your valentine gifts, cards and decorations. Also, save this years valentines to make more of your own next year!

Happy Hearts Day!
