CONSERVATIONISTS vs. ENVIRONMENTALISTS

by Dimity

Defining the Differences:

Many people lump anyone that is interested in animal/ nature/earth welfare under one umbrella. This is not right, as there is a big difference in the approach used by each group to accomplish their work. And even in some cases what the final result should be. I will try to explain the major differences and give you a start in understanding the passions that these people are feeling for their causes.
Conservationists:
To keep and protect from damage, change or waste; Conservation is the protection of plants and animals, natural areas, from the damaging effects of human activity. Conservation is also the preservation of valuable natural substances that exist in limited amounts.

Environmentalists:
An environmentalist is a person who has an especially strong interest in, studies and has knowledge of the natural environment, and who wants to preserve it and prevent damage to it.
