No place like home...

Drikara woke early, as was her custom, and went about getting ready for the day. She'd only a few things left to pack. She felt Kulerth stirring awake, and could feel his hunger, her own echoing it quite loudly. We'll go in a moment, Kulerth. Drikara sent, finishing drying her blonde hair.

KulerthOkay, but hurry... I'm hungry. Kulerth said, stretching his great blue wings.

A few moments later, Kulerth was taking down a large buck in the feeding grounds, with Drikara looking on, a bowl of fruit-laced porridge in her hand, and a mug of klah resting beside her.

"I can't believe you can eat and watch your dragon feed at the same time." Sy'n said, coming up beside her.

"I can't believe you can't, Sy'n." Drikara said, before shovelling in another spoonful.

"Very funny." Sy'n said, sitting down. "Lord Holder Engell sent out wages today." the brownrider informed his friend.

Drikara shot him a glance. He grinned and produced two small pouches. "I got yours for you. He wasn't going to let me, but I convinced him you'd skin me if I didn't give it to you."

Drikara set down the empty bowl, and opened the pouch, revealing dragonmarks. A smile on her face, she tucked the pouch away.

"Are you staying here, Sy'n, or going back to East Rock?" she asked, genuinely interested. Kulerth had finished the beast, and was eyeing a wherrie. A small one, Kulerth. she sent. The blue complied.

"I'm transferring to Rylsen." Sy'n said. "My brother was posted there, and as rockheaded as he is..."

Drikara nodded. She understood those sibling bonds. She'd tried to get in touch with her fosterbrothers, but to no avail. "I'll be going back to Ryslen myself." she said. "I can't wait to see the looks on my fosterbrother's faces when they see Kulerth."

Sy'n nodded. "When are you leaving?" he asked.

"Oh, after a bit. Why?" Drikara responded, eyes flaching mysteriously.

"Oh... no reason in particular." he responded ambiguously.

"I see..." Drikara laughed, draining her klah mug, and getting up.

Kulerth licked the last of his meal from his great jaws, and sauntered over. I'm ready now. the blue said. Do you want to ride?

Drikara grinned, and slid off the ledge onto her dragon's neck. Sy'n handed her dishes to her. "Would you like to ride along, Sy'n?" Drikara asked.

The drummer shook his head. "I'll go find W'ren and J'rin and see if they're going back to East Rock too."

"Okay then. We'll see you later!" Drikara called as Kulerth strolled across the bowl.

Later that day, two browns and a blue landed in Ryslen's bowl, and soon they were settled in. Sy'n and Drikara were talking out in the bowl, when a familiar voice shouted: "DRIKARA!"

She looked up a split second before she was enveloped in a bone-crushing hug from her younger fosterbrother.

"It's good to see you too..." Drikara said, returning the embrace. Finally he let go.

Sy'n looked a bit troubled. "I've got to go. Onaleth says J'kosh wants to see me." he said.

"Okay... See you later then, Sy'n." Drikara said, hoping the sudden familiarity between Leyken and herself hadn't given him the idea that she wasn't interested.

"Have you seen Alonndo lately?" Drikara asked, and her brother shook his head.

"Nope. Let's go find him - I've somthing to tell you both." he said excitedly.

As do I. Drikara thought to herself smiling.
