Maiahn After so long - and that horrifying moment when Alabaster moved - the clutch hatched. It was all too much! Egg after egg after egg... and then... Bliss, by the name of Yemlith.

Hatchling Yemlith Yemlith was a beautiful green, and Amitath had fallen for her. The blue sat with the sleeping green cradled in his forearms, eyes whirling with adoration.

J'rin smiled, and put his arm around Maiahn. "Fabulous... simply marvelous..." he whispered.

"You think so?" Maiahn murmured back. "I think Yemlith is darling."

"I think you are darling, Maiahn." J'rin whispered. "I love you."

"I love you too." Maiahn returned.

"Don't get any ideas, J'rin. She's in training now." The Trainer said by way of warning as he passed by.

Maiahn giggled, and J'rin blushed. They'd behaved this long; what was another year or two?

Yemlith

Yemlith was an avid learner, and was as easygoing as Amitath was determined – yet the blue never bossed her around. He doted on her so. Maiahn’s myriad skills served her well as a young dragonrider, though she was still furiously shy, except around J’rin and W’ren, when he came to visit.

Lord Holder Engell kept J’rin busy, and even though Alabaster had somehow moved off Pern, Amitath still knew his way around, king of the skies.

Of course, Mai. He’s Amitath. What else would he be? Yemlith’s eyes sparkled with adoration. Her growth was often remarked about by the Trainer. He often pointed out that she ought to have great flaming capacity – his bias that all greens should be sterile showing through. Maiahn often wondered if she should let Yemlith have a clutch before teaching her firestone. You know the results Maiahn. Would it matter either way?

Yemlith

Green Yemlith twined tails with the bold blue Amitath as they sat by as the Harpers and assembled folk witnessed J’rin and Maiahn’s formal wedding. Though it was rarely done among dragonriders, due to the phenomena of mating flights, they’d decided to do it anyway. Since they’d been betrothed since before Amitath hatched, this was the culmination of a series of events.

Perhaps they’d start a new fad – and change Weyr Culture forever? With the way things were always in a constant state of flux, nothing was really certain.

J’rin took Maiahn in his arms, and they kissed. Someone threw confetti, and J’rin bet good money it was Gem and Red – they too were soon to be wed – as ‘refugees’ from the first pass, they had strange ways too. Gem’s female blue and Red’s male green were testimony of that!

When J’rin and Maiahn parted, both sets of eyes sparkling, they turned to the assembled where Weyrwoman Tiyanni introduced them as man and wife. Maiahn tossed her ribbon-bedecked bouquet – right into Gem’s arms. Like Ryslen needed a reminder of their imminent wedding?
