J'rin grinned. That wasn't out of the ordinary though. Amitath lay on his weyrling-sized couch and kept a watchful eye on the proceedings.
"J'rin, it's beautiful!" Maiahn exclaimed, twirling around and around admiring the full skirt on her new gown. It would be perfect for dancing. The skirt was an inky blue-purple, and the bodice a rich brocade of a matching shade. It was decorated with silver lacing tied in intricate knots around the neckline and the cuffs of the sleeves. "How did you find the time?" she aksed, coming to a stop.p>J'rin smiled. "I made time, Maiahn." he said, taking a few steps toward her. He'd been working on that gown for months!
It's good you love her. Amitath stated, in his always-sure way. You look beautiful together.
J'rin beamed. "May I have this dance, m'lady?" he asked, bowing.
"Why of course, good sir." Maihan replied, batting her lashes ever so slightly. They danced, a graceful turning, moving dance that encompassed much of the small weyrling weyr. Very nice. Amitath commented.
With a bow and a curtsey, the dance ended. Maiahn embraced J'rin, then broke away. "I have to change." she said, ducking into the bathingroom to switch back to her ordinary dress.
I think a scrub is in order. Amitath said, stretching.
"Ok Amitath," J'rin said, picking up the sweetsand and oil pails. "Let's do that then." The blue got up and headed outside. "Maiahn, darling -- we'll meet you at the lake!" he called.
"All right! Be there in a moment!" she called back.
Amitath waded into the lake, and J'rin cuffed up his short sleeves a bit. "You shouldn't spend so much time with that candidate." A voice said. "Could get you in real trouble."
J'rin whirled around, looking for the speaker, but seeing none. He know it wasn't a dragon -- Amitath's voice in his mind for the last half-turn had made him quite accustomed to it. How disconcerting. J'rin thought as he began to scrub his blue.
Dont worry on it. Maiahn is all right. the blue said, and J'rin snapped out of it.
The blue weyrling was pleased when Maiahn came to help scrub. He didn't even mind the flirting that wnt on between them as they peeked at each other around him. Are you sure she'll Impress? J'rin asked. I don't want to lose her.
Amitath snorted. Why do you doubt me still? She'll stay. the blue said, authoritatively.
Though he was blue in hide, he had an ego like a bronze.
