A report from our youngest contributor so far : Kirsty, aged eight
I woke up one morning, it was the day of the 1st Dunswell (St. Faiths) Brownie Fun Day. Me and my Mum loaded the car and went off to Guideacres where the Fun Day was set. When most of the Brownies had arrived we started to make friendship badges which put us into groups. We sat in a circle and looked at how to use a compass, then we went outside to do a compass nature trail. We had to collect different things, which our group made into a picture of a bird. After the nature trail we had a drink and some fruit.
Then we split into our groups and some of us went on the grass sledging and some of us went on the assault course. The grass sledging was good, we went zooming down the hill. The assault course was good, but I slipped and hurt my leg. After being on the assault course we had lunch, which was crisps, sausage rolls and buns. After lunch we made some crafts - we made sheep badges and peg swirles. We then played some team games and a game of rounders. We all had a drink and then had tea. For tea we had beefburgers and hot dogs and we sat round the camp fire to eat them. We toasted fruit and marshmellows over the camp fire, then we headed back to the hut.
Parents were now arriving to collect their children. After everyone had gone home, we packed our car and set off home.
Our Fun Day was great. I'm sure everybody who went enjoyed it just as much as me.
