What is the name of the hotel?
The hotel is called the Pan Pacific Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
How can I get there from the airport?
The hotel is only 50 minutes by car from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
A limousine is available on request. The public taxi service may be used at an approximate cost of RM70; vouchers are purchased at the airport.
How many days is the room booked for?
Rooms for international participants are booked for 4 nights. This is from the 3-7 August. However, rooms are only available for the sponsored participants.
If I am a participant, am I entitled to a hotel room?
Rooms are only allocated for international participants who have received an invitation letter which states explicitly that they will be sponsored for airfare and accomodation.
What is the best way to travel from the hotel to the conference venue?
The hotel is just next to the PWTC. The best way is to take a short walk to the convention centre.
If I am a participant residing outside KL, am I entitled to a hotel room?
If your invitation letter does not state anything on sponsorship, you are not entitled to any. However, you might be entitled to a room discount as a conference participant. Please check with the hotel management whether this is possible.
What is the name of the conference hall?
The conference hall for the East Asia Congress is situated on the 4th floor of the PWTC. It is called the Merdeka Hall.
When and how should I register for the conference?
You should register ideally on Sunday 3rd August. The registration time will be from 12 - 8pm. A confirmation statement will be given to you in due course via email or fax. This statement will bear your registration number. It is extremely important that you keep and record your registration number to facilitate us during the registration process. A name tag will be given for each registration number.
Do we have coffee breaks and lunches?
We have 2 coffee breaks and 1 lunch per conference day.
If I am a participant, am I entitled to the welcoming dinner?
If you are an international participant and have received an explicit invitation to the dinner, you are entitled to the welcoming dinner. If you are Malaysian, you are only entitled if you have been notified as such via our invitation letter.
If I am an international participant, do I have to make my own flight arrangement?
As an international participant, your flight is sponsored if it is stated so in the invitation letter. It is very important that you check your status in the letter prior to making any flight or hotel arrangements.
Which airline are we dealing with?
You will be flying with Malaysia Airlines.
If I am in Malaysia but outside KL, will my flight be sponsored?
If you are a participant residing outside KL, we are not responsible for your flight arrangement. Any arrangement will be at your cost.
When I arrive at the airport, do I have to make my own way to the Hotel or will there be something arranged for me?
International participants will be met at the airport at their respective arrival times. There is no need for any personal transport arrangement unless you prefer to do so. However, should any of you be left unattended for some reason, due to unforeseen circumstances, please proceed with your own transport arrangement and you will be reimbursed upon arrival at the Pan Pacific Hotel.
