Game Summary
Ohio State jumped out to an early 9-0 lead.
Derek Combs scored on a 11 yard touchdown run set up by Nate Clements 80
yard return of the opening kick off, and Dan Stultz kicked a 37 yard field
goal. Michigan then countered with a 70 yard touchdown pass from Drew Henson
to Anthony Thomas to make the score 7-9.
On Michigan's next possession, Henson completed a 22 yard pass to David
Terrell to move Michigan to the Ohio State 21. Drew Henson was then
able to find David Terrell in the end zone for a 21 yard touchdown pass
which made the score 14-9. In the third quarter, Drew Henson threw
a 32 yard bomb to Terrell in the left corner of the end zone to make the
score 21-12. Later in the same quarter, Michigan takes a commanding
31-12 lead when Julius Curry intercepts a Steve Belisari pass and run 50
yards for a Michigan touchdown. However, Ohio State does not give
up as the Buckeyes score two quick touchdowns to make the score 31-26 in
favor of Michigan. Ohio State is able to get the ball back after
a Michigan punt with a chance to take the lead, but Michigan holds the
Buckeyes on downs at the OSU 19. From there Michigan was able drive
19 yards for a touchdown with Henson scoring from one yard out to make
the final score 38-26. On the day Henson was 14-25 for 303 yards
and three touchdowns. The Wolverines where out rushed by Ohio State
149 to 86 on the afternoon, but held the edge in passing yards 303 to 251.
