History

      As a four year starter at Marshall University, Chad Pennington passed for 13,143 yards and completed over 63 % of his passes.  In the 2000 NFL draft, Chad was a first round draft pick by the New York Jets.  In 1995 Chad led the Thundering Herd to the NCAA division 2A championship game where Marshall lost to Montana. The following season Chad was redshirted.  Chad returned in 1997 to led Marshall University to a 10-3 record and a Motor City Bowl bid.  In 1998, he led Marshall to a 12-1 mark a Motor City Bowl victory over Louisville (Marshall first Bowl victory since returning to division 1A football).  Finally in 1999, he led Marshall to a perfect 13-0 record and a 21-3 victory over BYU in the Motor City Bowl. During his senior season Chad Pennington finish fourth in the Heismann Trophy race and the 1999 Senior Bowl MVP.
