Duke, originally rescued from Panama City by 5 Star k9 Rescue is escorted to a wonderful ABMC foster home in Greensboro North Carolina and given fantastic care by his foster mom, Lynne. Thanks go to Terre Halle for transporting this wonderful boy.

In his new surroundings he is given the new name Homer. Homer spent time recuperating from heartworm. Life in Greensboro was good, Homer enjoyed his new life and especially training with Lynne but he longed for his very own family.

Homer's picture and bio were posted on the American Belgian Malinois Club rescue page. He generated much interest but Lynne was looking for the "perfect" home. One family looked especially promising, they were looking for a companion, a friend, and much loved pet.

A homecheck was scheduled and the poor family was grilled and scrutinized by Julie, a volunteer for ABMC rescue. After much communication between Lynne and ABMC volunteer Julie it was decided that Homer would move to York.

On October 11, 2003 in the wee hours of the morning, Julie and fellow malinois owner Cathy headed south. At the same time Connie and husband Jimmy headed north. The plan... Connie picks up Homer and continues north, eventually rendevouzing with the northern malinois owners in Salem VA.

Uh oh... Connie is having trouble handing Homer over, it appears she and her husband have gotten "attached".... oh no! It seems Homer is loved everywhere he goes as Lynne had great trouble giving him up as well but you can only keep so many you know.

Julie and Cathy nab the wonderful boy, put him in the SUV and head out before Connie and Jimmy can change their minds. Thanks guys, you saved us many, many hours of driving!!

Heading north now, the malinois transporters face another 6 hours of driving before arriving back in York, PA. The new owners come bursting out the front door so anxious to see their new baby. Ah, Homer is home :) A new love affair has begun...

Thanks to the Breach's for adopting one of our Malinois babies, they are all so special and deserve loving homes.
