THE PROJECT GUIDE

LOG: One month and four days in the making, whew...

SYNOPSIS: You are me... and I have a project due tomorrow. It's time to rush the job. Using whatever resources you find, and creativity, you must complete the project in time! Can you do it?

TECHNICAL INFO: 7 levels. Auto-saves after you beat each level. Menu screen and save/load implementation. Alternate ending. 3 MB installer, zipped.

WALKTHROUGH:

Level 1: The Project - Collect the homework from the desk by pressing SPACEBAR. Head out the door. Jump the hump and collect the money. Go for door.

Level 2: Money Does Grow on Trees - It's a chipper day. You can kick the sodie can for a while. Collect the lightbulb to get an IDEA. Proceed right. Jump the little tree and climb the big tree. Collect the lightbulbs on top of the big tree. After you make it over, dodge the dangerous shopping cart. Collect the money. As you continue, you'll find two parked cars. Jump them like the Ong Bak guy, collecting the lightbulbs and money. Enter the building.

Level 3: Welcome to Fleet Mart, Asshole! - After a friendly greeting, it's time to shop. Dodge falling vases. If you get hit, Fleet Mart will take the money out of your pocket. Collect the JUG and proceed. Collect the lightbulbs as they appear. Collect the TAPE. Jump the stools and stand in front of the rude and fat cashier and pay for your items. Then jump over her and exit the store. Now you're in retro-land, and you should know what to do with the question mark boxes. If not, stand under one and jump up to bop it for a prize (not really). Collect money as they appear. Once you make it to the top of the hill, bop one of the boxes for a BOWLING BALL. You now have fireball ability. Press CTRL to shoot a fireball. Continue to the pipe, jump on top of it and press DOWN to enter it.

Level 4: It Stinks Down There - Where does the pipe take you? Into poop-ville, that's where. As you fall, collect the lightbulbs. Then collect the FLASHLIGHT. Press SPACEBAR to use the FLASHLIGHT as a FLASHLIGHTSABER (no, Mr. Lucas, it's a parody, not a rip-off, so don't sue me). By the way, I made the sound effect outta my own mouth, so booyah beeatch. Slice the spider. Slice the happy, naked skeleton. Collect the following lightbulbs, then jump onto the platform above. Go left and you'll encounter dripping acid. Collect the lightbulbs there. Go right and collect the remaining lightbulbs in this area. Slice the rat. Continue right. Collect the moldy SANDWICH below the platforms. Use the TURTLE SHELL as a trampoline to get to the platform on the left. Collect the lightbulbs. Use the TURTLE SHELL to jump to the ladder. Press up to grab onto the ladder to exit.

Level 5: High in the Sky - Hop onto the first rising cloud to collect a lightbulb. Jump to the next floating cloud to collect some more. Then you will encounter a congested cloud. If you touch him, he'll electrocute you with a bolt of lightning. Continue right, skipping the rising clouds for now. When you reach the far end, there will be a horde of lightbulbs. Return to the rising clouds you skipped before and ride them to the upper clouds, avoiding a moving congested cloud. Dash right to the next. You've reached the MOON. It's so purdy you want to collect it. After you play with it as a beachball, it'll shrink down so you can carry it. Collect it and an opening will be revealed. Jump in.

Level 6: Go, Pac, Go! - An ode to Pac-Man. Simply, collect all the pellets. When you collect a lightbulb, a peachy will appear. When you collect the peachy, the pinkies will start flashing, which means you can put your tongue into action. Of course, it doesn't last. Once you've collected all the pellets, you will go to the next level automatically.

Level 7: Do Due Time - It's the last level and you still haven't come up with the grandiose project. Wander around your room until you come up with the grand idea. The best ideas come that way. The time is now! Will you finish the project?

Level 8: The End - Just let the credits roll. Then get your project to class, damn you! Hey-ya!

 

SECRETS:

Level 2: When you climb the tree, jump off the left onto an invisible platform toward the sneaky-looking arrow made of dollars. Make your way up. When you get to the top, press SPACEBAR to teleport to another invisible platform to the right of the tree. There's a whole path of invisible platforms as you continue right. There is a horde of moolah atop Fleet Mart's roof. It's easy as walkin' on air.

Level 3: Look for a cereal box on the shelves. Collect that and you'll find yourself in Fleet Mart's secret stash of dough.

Level 8: Collect all 100 IDEAS (lightbulbs) to play the real ending.

Skip levels - After you install the game, look in the install directory for the XTRAS folder. Copy the autoSav.sav and autoSav folder into The Project folder. Run the game and load. After the saved game is loaded, press N to skip each map until Level 7.

Moral of the story - Don't procrastinate. Also, if you are too ambitious, time to get realistic. I sprouted gray hair making this game. Sheesh.

What happens to the remaing money collected? - All the IDEAS get used up... So what about the money? Well, it's very easy. I (you) end up spending it at the local B.K. king-sizing a Whopper value meal. Or, you had to buy some girl an apology gift. Satisfied?

Would you really eat a moldy sandwich? - Yes. Yes, I would, beeatch.
